Here is a holistic, professional Ayurvedic approach to rekindling your metabolism, managing stress, and gently shifting this hormonal weight. 1. Correcting the Diet: Sparking the Agni Eating too little is actually stalling your metabolism. Furthermore, your current choices might be inadvertently working against you: ••The Yogurt & Cheese Issue: In Ayurveda, yogurt and cheese are Abhishyandi—they clog the bodily channels (Srotas) and increase dampness/Kapha. Yogurt should especially be avoided in the evening or if you are trying to lose weight. ••The 16:00 Chocolate Craving: A 4 PM crash is a classic sign of Vata spikes or cortisol drops. Your body is screaming for instant energy because your lunch wasn’t grounding or nourishing enough. The Shift: ••Eat Warm, Cooked, Whole Foods: Swap cold crackers, cheese, and raw salad for warm, easily digestible meals. Think spiced mung dal khichdi, steamed vegetables with ghee, and warm quinoa or basmati rice. Ditch the Cold Yogurt: If you love yogurt, consume it only at lunch in the form of Takra (Buttermilk). Whisk 2 tablespoons of yogurt with a cup of water, remove the top froth, and add a pinch of roasted cumin powder and dry ginger powder. This actively kindles digestion and clears channels. ••Manage the 4 PM Dip: Anticipate this crash. At 3:30 PM, drink a warm cup of spiced almond milk (with a pinch of cardamom and nutmeg) or eat 4-5 soaked and peeled almonds with a medjool date. This satisfies the sweet taste (Madhura Rasa) that your nervous system is craving, preventing the chocolate binge. 2. Optimizing Your Herbal Protocol You have a great foundation with Berberine and Gynostemma (which mimic AMPK activation and metabolic clearance), but we need to tailor them to your unique history. ••Triphala (Great Choice): Since you just started, take 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of Triphala powder in warm water right before bed. It doesn’t just help with bowel movements; it cleanses Ama from the colon, which is crucial for balancing hormones. ••Berberine & Matcha: Keep taking your Berberine before meals to manage insulin sensitivity. Matcha is wonderful for Kapha metabolism, but because you have heavy stress (Vata), ensure you don’t drink it on an empty stomach, as the caffeine can spike cortisol. •Introduce an Adaptogen for Stress & BHRT Support: Since the weight gain is hormonal and stress-driven, we must soothe the nervous system. Ashwagandha or Shatavari are excellent here. Given the history of cervical cancer and BHRT, Shatavari is highly regarded in Ayurveda for gently nourishing the female reproductive system and balancing hormones without aggressively mimicking estrogen, while simultaneously lowering stress. (Note: Always run new supplements by your oncologist/endocrinologist). 3. Lifestyle & Metabolic Cleansing ••Circadian Fasting (12 to 14 Hours): Since your weight is stable, your body needs a gentle nudge to burn fat. Ensure an early, light dinner by 7:00 PM and breakfast at 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM. ••Stress Management (Manovaha Srotas): High stress releases cortisol, which safely guards fat stores around the abdomen. Dedicate 10 minutes in the morning to Pranayama—specifically Nadi Shodhana (Alternate Nostril Breathing) to calm Vata, and Bhramari (Bee Breath) to soothe the endocrine system. Time of Day Action / Routine Ayurvedic Purpose Morning Warm water with a slice of fresh ginger + 10 mins Nadi Shodhana Pranayama. Kindles Agni, clears morning Ama, calms Vata. Breakfast Warm cooked oatmeal or stewed apples with cinnamon. (Keep Matcha here). Grounding energy, avoids spiking cortisol. Lunch Cooked grains, lentils/chicken, warm veggies + a glass of spiced Takra (buttermilk). Main meal when Agni is strongest; Takra clears channels. 3:30 PM Soaked almonds + a date OR warm herbal tea with cardamom. Preempts the 4 PM chocolate craving by stabilizing blood sugar. Dinner Light soup, steamed veggies, or a light chicken broth. (No cheese/yogurt). Allows the liver and metabolism to detoxify overnight. Before Bed 1/2 tsp Triphala in warm water. Regularizes elimination, scrapes deep-seated fat toxins.

Hello, After chemotherapy, radiation and BHRT , your agni (digestive fire) has weakened and your kapha dosha has becomes excess- causing the body to hold onto weight, fluid , and toxins (ama). Chronic stress keeps vata disturbed, which triggers cravings (especially sweets at 4 pm) and disrupts your metabolism further. Your body is in survival mode- holding fat as protection . This is not a willpower issue. It is hormonal + metabolic + nervous system imbalance Treatment goals 1) rekindle agni= improve digestion and metabolic fire so food becomes energy, not stored fat 2) Clear ama= remove metabolic waste and toxin accumulated post chemo/radiation 3) Calm vata and stress=reduce cortisol driven craving and nervous system overload 4) Nourish and rebuild= support post cancer tissue recovery without adding kapha (heaviness) Internal medications 1) Triphala= you already started =1/2 tsp or 2 tabs at bedtime with warm water =gently cleanses, regulated bowels, reduces ama. continue for 3 months minimum 2) Trikatu churna= 1/4 tsp with honey before meals =rekindling the digestive fire, directly targets kapha weight and poor metabolism, use for 6-8 weeks 3) Ashwagandha capsules= 500mg cap at night with warm milk =adaptogen- lowers cortisol, supports hormonal balance, reduces stress driven cravings. particularly valuable given your history of heavy stress. minimum use for 3 months 4) Berbarine (you already take) + Gudmar =berbarine 500mg with meals- continue, Add gudmar (400mg) before your 4 pm snack time- it reduces sugar cravings at the recpetor level. very helpful for your chocolate dip 5) Punarnava capsules= 250mg twice daily after meals =kapha reducing, kidney supporting, helps with fluid retention and gentle fat metabolism. safe post cancer 2-3 months Your existing teas- how to use them better 1) Gynostemma tea= keep in the morning= adaptogenic, metabolic support 2) Matcha= mid morning only not after 2 pm as it disturbs sleep ADD=CCF tea= cumin + coriander + fennel seeds simmered in water. Drink before /after meals. Best Ayurvedic digestive cleanser. simple, and powerful External therapies 1) Self massage= warm sesame oil 10 min before shower daily =calms vata, moves lymph, reduces cortisol, essential for your stress level 2) Dry brushing or ginger scrub= before bath, brush dry skin upward, moves kapha, stimulates lmphatic drainage. or use ginger powder + oil paste as scrub twice weekly Diet You are eating too little this worsen hormonal weight gain. undereating signals the body to store more fat and lowers agni further Add= warm cooked meals -khichdi made of rice and moong dal -soups -roasted vegetables= easy to digest kapha balancing Keep your chicken + salad= good protein, light. add olive oil + lemon + cumin dressing Limit crackers + cheese= heavy , kapha increasing, swap crackers for rice cakes + hummus occassionaly For 4 pm craving= 2-3 dates + a small piece of dark chocolate (85%) + warm CCF tea. satisfying and not destructive Water goal= slowly increase to 1.5 L/day. warm or room temp= never cold (suppresses agni) Yoga asanas -surya namaskar (gentle pace, 3-5 rounds) -trikonasana -ardha matsyendrasana (twists activate digestion) -viparita karani = calms nervous system Pranayam -kapalbhati= 5 min, morning clears kapha, boosts metabolism -Nadi sodhana= 5 min evening = calms vata, lowers cortisol. most important for your stress profile Lifestyle changes -Sleep by 10 pm= hormonal repair happens 10pm-2am.non-negotiable for weight reduction -stress buffer at 4 pm= walk 15 min outside instead of reaching for snacks first. Then have your managed snack -Morning routine= warm water with lemon + pinch ginger on waking, before anything else -Minimize cold foods= no cold drinks, no smoothies, no cold yogurt- all supress the digestive fire you are trying to rebuild Home remedies -Fenugreek seeds= 1/2 tsp soaked overnight, chew in morning- insulin sensitivity., digestion -Cinnamon= 1/4 tsp in warm water morning- blood sugar stability, reduces sweet cravings -Ginger tea= fresh ginger slice + hot water, twice daily- best agni rekindler available at home You have survived cervix cancer- chemotherapy, radiation and years of stress- your body has carried you through extraordinary challenges. The 18 kg is your body’s protective response, not a failure. Ayurveda works gently here- rebuilding the fire, clearing the residue, calming the storm, give yourself 3-6 months of consistent effort. Start small . these small things compound beautifully Do follow Hope this might be helpful Thank you

According to Ayurveda, this appears to be a stress-related hormonal and metabolic imbalance with aggravated Kapha and Vata. Low appetite, irregular eating, emotional snacking, poor hydration, and chronic stress can slow metabolism and promote weight gain. Focus on improving Agni (digestion), reducing stress, eating warm balanced meals with adequate protein, increasing water intake, and doing regular walking. Triphala may support digestion, and gentle formulations like Kanchanar Guggulu can help metabolic balance. —rx 1) Tab. Kanchanar Guggulu – 2 tab BD after meals 2) Triphala churna – 1 tsp HS with warm water 3) Avipattikar churna – 1 tsp before dinner with lukewarm water 4) Jeera-Dhaniya-Saunf water – sip throughout the day —Pathya: Warm light meals, adequate protein Avoid excess chocolate, chips, cold foods, late-night eating Increase water intake Daily 20–30 min walk, stress reduction, proper sleep —Note: Due to BHRT and past cervical cancer treatment, continue regular follow-up

●Weight gain is about what your body absorbs, not just how much food you eat. ▪︎The Core Secret: Absorption Over Intake Both Ayurveda and modern science agree that stuffing yourself with food won’t lead to healthy weight gain if your body can’t process it. In Ayurveda, this comes down to Agni (your digestive fire). If your Agni is weak, food isn’t converted into Rasa Dhatu (the foundational fluid that nourishes all other bodily tissues). Science mirrors this concept: if you have weak gut flora, your body cannot absorb protein; if you have low Vitamin D, your metabolism slows down. When absorption fails, you experience bloating, gas, and a lean body, meaning your body needs better absorption, not just more food. ▪︎Why Weight Gain Fails Your notes outline four major reasons why the scale won’t budge. First is a weak metabolic fire, where food simply sits undigested. Second is Vata aggravation, which causes internal dryness and makes the body unstable. Third is Dhatu-Kshaya, a condition where the formation of flesh, fat, and bone slows down drastically. Finally, insomnia and anxiety skyrocket your cortisol levels (the stress hormone), which actively breaks down muscle. An unstable mind leads to an unstable digestive fire, locking your weight in place. ▪︎Timing and the Right Season You cannot force weight gain at just any time. During the rainy season, your digestive fire is naturally at its weakest. Consuming heavy, highly nutritious foods or dense tonics like Chyawanprash during the rains will only cause indigestion, laziness, and toxicity. The ideal seasons for healthy weight gain are autumn and winter. During these colder months, your internal Agni is naturally strong and robust, making it the perfect time for your body to fully digest rich foods and building blocks to increase your physical strength. ▪︎The Morning Routine & Appetite Boost To fix your digestion, Ayurveda suggests a strategic morning routine on an empty stomach. Drinking one tablespoon of ghee with lukewarm water gently kindles your digestive fire, calms Vata, and lubricates the digestive tract. Following this with herbs like Ashwagandha and Shatavari mixed with Mishri acts as a natural appetizer and mineral booster. Getting 15 to 20 minutes of morning sunlight resets your hormones and activates your metabolism. Within the first 10 days of this routine, you will notice a visible increase in your appetite. ▪︎The Dietary Framework & Best Foods To keep your digestive fire stable during meals, take a little black pepper and dry ginger before eating, mix 1 to 1.5 teaspoons of ghee into your food, and sip warm water afterward. The best foods to reconstruct your body tissues include heavy, nourishing options like dates with ghee, asparagus milk, mung bean khichdi, saffron milk, and rajgira laddus. For deep tissue and muscle building, powerful traditional “Rasayanas” (rejuvenating tonics) like Chyawanprash—especially versions containing gold or processed with ghee and sesame oil—replenish the body naturally within 45 to 60 days. ▪︎Smart Exercise Rules Exercise is necessary for weight gain, but it must follow specific rules so it builds muscle instead of burning away your progress. Ayurveda strongly advises against excessive cardio and working out on an empty stomach, as both spike Vata and cause weight loss. Instead, focus on light strength exercises, Surya Namaskar, Vajrasana, Bhujangasana, and light squats. This specific movement structure ensures that your weight gain comes from healthy muscle building and a stable, highly efficient digestive fire.

After chemo-radiation, BHRT, stress, irregular eating and low protein intake can slow metabolism and increase cortisol-related weight gain. Your 4 PM chocolate craving also suggests stress + unstable blood sugar. Ayurvedic support: For hormonal metabolism and stress Ashwagandha capsule 500 mg at night after food with warm milk/water Shatavari capsule 500 mg morning after breakfast For cravings, digestion and metabolism Triphala 1 tsp with warm water at bedtime Continue berberine only if no weakness or low sugar symptoms For stress-related eating Brahmi 250–500 mg evening Diet Increase protein: moong, paneer, eggs/fish/chicken, Greek yoghurt Do not skip meals Add soaked nuts and seeds morning Replace chocolate snack with dates + nuts or dark chocolate small quantity Avoid crackers, processed cheese, sugary snacks Lifestyle 30 min brisk walk daily Sleep before 11 PM Gentle yoga and pranayama helpful for cortisol balance

Hello First of all thank you for sharing your detailed history This actually helps us to carefully plan a customize treatment accordingly to your present condition Important first step Considering your past medical history, before starting any supplements or detox i will suggest you to have certain blood test (if already done please share it with me) -Thyroid profile -Hba1C -Vitamin B12 and D and also review about your BHRT dosage Because when on BHRT, it causes rapid hormonal fluctuation leading to weight fluctuation, cravings, can cause water retention and affect your energy So it is important for us to be cautious Ayurvedic plan of treatment I will suggest you certain medicine no doubt but you have to Correct your meal pattern first If you meal is not corrected any medicine will not work ▪️What i came to know is… -Your protein intake is low -Fiber intake is low -you keep very long gap between your meals -Water intake is low This all will worsen the imbalance in cortisol level and leads to cravings Instead try this -Have daily water intake of 2-3 litres -Have breakfast with protein -Have warm cooked meals instead of cheese or crackers -Do not keep long gaps between the meals Ayurvedic medications 1.Ashwagandha capsule 1 capsule twice daily after food 2.Triphala tablets 1 at bed time I have prescribed minimum medicine which will help you gradually Sudden strong medicines is not advisable for you Small but effective measures -Have warm water with pinch of sunti powder after meals -Buttermilk with jeera powder after lunch -Have dinner before 7:30 pm Physical Activity -Start gently -20 min walk -Light yoga -Pranayama -Sunlight exposure before 9 Choclate craving at 4 It is connected to your cortisol fluctuation Instead of munching on chocolates Try -Nuts and seeds -Roasted makhana -Dark choclate With proper nutrition, meal patter, hydration and ayurvedic support you can definately have sustainable weight management Wishing you a good health😊 Warm Regards Dr Snehal Vidhate
