A didelphys uterus, where the uterus is divided into two cavities, can sometimes complicate conception but does not make pregnancy impossible. The fact that all other parameters for both you and your husband are normal is encouraging. Your TSH level of 4.75, even if treated with Thyronorm, indicates the need for careful monitoring as thyroid imbalances can affect ovulation and fertility. Folic acid supplementation is essential for preconception care, as it supports healthy fetal development. In Ayurveda, Kalyanaka Ghritam is an excellent choice for promoting reproductive health, as it nourishes the shukra dhatu (reproductive tissue), balances hormones, and supports mental well-being, which is crucial for conception. Additionally, Ayurvedic remedies like Phala Ghritam and Shatavari can further enhance uterine health, regulate cycles, and promote fertility. Lifestyle modifications, including yoga (Baddha Konasana, Viparita Karani), pranayama, and a warm, easily digestible diet, can support hormonal balance. Avoid processed foods, excess caffeine, and stress, as these can disturb vata dosha, which plays a significant role in reproduction. Regular consultations with both your Ayurvedic practitioner and gynecologist are recommended to align treatments and address any structural challenges posed by the didelphys uterus. Patience and consistency with your holistic regimen may bring positive results.

Azoospermia with High FSH

Semen Analysis: No sperm found (azoospermia). FSH (18.1) Testosterone (317.5) Doctor Recommended: TESE Can Ayurveda help improve sperm production and Ayurvedic treatments can improve testicular function and hormonal balance? Does Panchakarma therapy help in improving sperm production? If yes, which specific therapies are recommended? Are there any specific Ayurvedic medicines or formulations that can enhance testicular health and reduce oxidative stress? How long would Ayurvedic treatment take to show results, and what are realistic expectations in this case? Any dietary recommendations or lifestyle changes to improve reproductive health and sperm production naturally?

Azoospermia (absence of sperm) along with high FSH (18.1) and moderate testosterone (317.5) suggests testicular dysfunction, possibly due to Sertoli cell failure or obstructive causes. Ayurveda views this as an imbalance in Shukra Dhatu (reproductive tissue), often caused by excess Pitta and Vata, oxidative stress, or poor testicular function. Ayurvedic herbs like Ashwagandha, Shatavari, Kapikacchu (Mucuna pruriens), and Shilajit are known to enhance testicular health, improve hormonal balance, and support spermatogenesis. Rasayanas like Chyawanprash and Vajikarana therapy (aphrodisiac treatment) also help rejuvenate reproductive tissues. Panchakarma therapies like Virechana (detoxification) and Basti (medicated enema with sesame oil or Ashwagandha decoction) can aid in hormonal balance and improve testicular function naturally. Panchakarma is particularly beneficial in cases of non-obstructive azoospermia, as it helps remove toxins, rejuvenate testicular function, and stimulate spermatogenesis. Uttara Basti (medicated enema through the urethra) and Shirodhara (oil therapy for stress reduction) can be useful if stress-related hormonal imbalances contribute to the issue. Ayurvedic treatment for improving sperm production typically takes 3-6 months depending on the severity, consistency of treatment, and underlying cause. It’s important to have realistic expectations, as Ayurveda focuses on natural regeneration rather than instant results. Diet and lifestyle play a key role in improving testicular function and sperm health. Ayurveda recommends warm, nourishing foods rich in zinc, healthy fats, and antioxidants, such as ghee, soaked almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, and dates. Avoiding spicy, processed, and excessive salty foods prevents Pitta aggravation, which can damage sperm quality. Regular Abhyanga (self-massage with sesame oil), yoga (Sarvangasana, Vajrasana), and stress management techniques like meditation and pranayama (Anulom Vilom, Bhastrika) help optimize reproductive health. With a consistent Ayurvedic treatment approach, dietary adjustments, and Panchakarma therapy, natural sperm production may improve over time.

I understand the emotional and financial strain you're going through. Ayurveda offers a holistic approach to fertility that can complement your journey without the heavy financial burden. First, focus on restoring balance to your Agni (digestive fire), as poor digestion can hinder fertility. Try simple remedies like Triphala or Chandraprabha Vati to improve digestion and eliminate toxins. Include Shatavari and Ashwagandha to nourish the reproductive system and balance hormones. A nutritious diet with warm, easily digestible foods like khichdi, ghee, and seasonal vegetables can help strengthen the body. Managing stress through practices like meditation, yoga, or breathing exercises (Pranayama) is essential for reducing the impact of anxiety on fertility. Also, regular Abhyanga (oil massage) and Uttarbasti (herbal oils for the reproductive organs) can help balance your Vata and Pitta doshas, which are often at the root of infertility. Remember that Ayurveda works gently over time, so patience and consistency are key. Stay hopeful, as many women have conceived naturally with holistic treatments after IVF setbacks.

I understand that receiving such a diagnosis can be overwhelming, but it’s encouraging that you're exploring all options, including Ayurveda. Low AMH (Anti-Müllerian Hormone) levels and ovarian adhesions, as seen in your TVS report, can indicate reduced ovarian reserve and potential challenges in conception. However, Ayurveda takes a holistic approach to fertility, focusing on balancing your body’s energies, improving reproductive health, and enhancing the function of the ovaries. Ayurvedic Perspective on Fertility: 1. Herbal Support for Ovarian Health: Several Ayurvedic herbs are known to support hormonal balance, improve ovarian health, and promote fertility. Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus) is particularly effective for women’s reproductive health. It supports the female reproductive system, balances estrogen levels, and strengthens the uterus. Ashwagandha helps reduce stress and balance hormones, which can be crucial for fertility. Additionally, Lodhra and Gokshura are herbs that help regulate the menstrual cycle and improve uterine health. 2. Detoxification: Ayurveda emphasizes the importance of detoxifying the body, especially when there are imbalances in the reproductive system. Panchakarma, an Ayurvedic detox therapy, can help cleanse the body of toxins that may be contributing to the issues. Specifically, therapies like Udwarthanam (dry powder massage) and Swedana (steam therapy) can improve circulation to the pelvic region, supporting reproductive health. 3. Balancing Doshas: In Ayurveda, infertility is often seen as a result of imbalances in the doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha). A customized Ayurvedic treatment plan would involve determining your dosha imbalance and addressing it with diet, lifestyle changes, and specific therapies. For example, Vata imbalance (often associated with stress and anxiety) may require grounding and calming treatments. 4. Diet and Lifestyle: A balanced diet rich in nutrients is essential to support ovarian function and hormone production. Ayurvedic recommendations typically include whole grains, healthy fats (like ghee), leafy greens, and nuts. Avoiding processed foods, caffeine, and excessive stress is key. Your current yoga practice can also be beneficial for reducing stress and improving overall health, but gentle, restorative yoga poses focusing on the pelvic region can further stimulate circulation and enhance reproductive health. 5. Uterine Health and Adhesions: Ayurvedic treatments like Uttarbasti (a therapeutic procedure where herbal oils are introduced into the uterus) can be beneficial in promoting uterine health, reducing adhesions, and enhancing fertility. Mahanarayan oil or Dashamoola oil can be used in massages to improve circulation and relax the uterine and pelvic muscles. Ayurvedic Approach to Integrating with Modern Treatments: While Ayurveda can support and improve your fertility, especially by enhancing your overall health and addressing imbalances, it can be beneficial to consider it alongside your current medical treatments like estrogen therapy and vitamin supplementation. Integrating both approaches may provide a more comprehensive solution. It’s important to work with a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner who can create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs and constitution. Ayurveda’s holistic approach can complement conventional treatments like IVF or IUI, and may offer support in improving your chances of conception over time. Remember, patience and consistency are crucial, as Ayurvedic treatments often take time to show their effects. Stay positive and open to exploring both traditional and modern options for your fertility journey.

Trying to conceive

I have been trying to conceive last 3 years. I have tried naturally and also multiple iui and couple of ivfs which failed recently, inspite of good embryo quality and optimum endometrium thickness and other factors that are analysed in ivf process are normal. My amh is optimum, endometrial thickness is usually around 6-7 mm without any medicines. I am doing yoga for 3-4 days in a week, very minimal junk food. My periods are regular, cycle length is 32-34 days. Blood flow is medium-light. No miscarriage. Thyroid is normal, ovaries and tubes are in optimal health as per medical professionals. I want to understand why I’m unable to conceive.

Looks the endometrial thickness could be better around implantation around 10mm at-least. You can consult an Ayurvedic fertility consultant to take medication for improving the health of your endometrium thickness and improving ovarian quality. Uttar basti can also help you in improving the quality of your ovum and endometrial thickness.

Why does shatavari increase prolactin levels ?

Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus) is widely used in Ayurveda for supporting women's health, especially for fertility, as it is considered an adaptogen and is known to nourish and tonify the reproductive system. It can help balance hormones, improve ovulation, and enhance overall reproductive health. However, it is important to note that individual responses to herbs can vary, and in your case, you mentioned that Shatavari increases prolactin levels in your blood. Prolactin and Fertility: Prolactin is a hormone that plays a role in lactation, and elevated levels of prolactin can interfere with ovulation and fertility. High prolactin can inhibit the secretion of other hormones, like estrogen and progesterone, which are essential for conception. If Shatavari is increasing your prolactin levels, it may not be suitable for you, especially if you're trying to conceive. Suggestions: Avoid Shatavari if It Increases Prolactin: Since you have experienced an increase in prolactin levels with Shatavari, it may be better to discontinue its use. An Ayurvedic approach to fertility should be individualized, and herbs like Shatavari may not work well for everyone, especially if hormonal balance (like prolactin) is disrupted. Consider Other Herbal Alternatives: Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera): Known for balancing hormones, reducing stress, and improving reproductive health. It may help regulate prolactin levels without causing an increase. Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia): A potent herb in Ayurveda that can support immune health, balance hormones, and assist in detoxification. Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris): Known to support reproductive health in women and help balance hormonal levels. Shatavari’s Alternatives: Some herbs like Turmeric (Curcuma longa) and Chaste tree (Vitex agnus-castus) can also promote hormonal balance and fertility without raising prolactin levels. Consult an Ayurvedic Doctor: If you're considering fertility treatment with Ayurveda, it's best to consult with an Ayurvedic doctor who can assess your overall health, dosha, and specific concerns. They can recommend the right herbal formulations or adjustments to your diet and lifestyle to optimize your fertility without affecting your prolactin levels. Monitor Your Prolactin Levels: It's important to regularly monitor your prolactin levels through blood tests while considering any fertility treatments or herbal remedies. If the prolactin levels continue to rise, further investigation by a healthcare provider is essential to determine the underlying cause. Ultimately, Ayurvedic treatments for fertility are highly personalized. If you are experiencing an increase in prolactin levels due to Shatavari, it may not be the right choice for you, and it is advisable to explore alternative options under professional guidance

Hello Neha, PCOS according to Ayurveda is an imbalance in the Agni (metabolic apparatus of the body ) & the kapha , Vata Dosha. You haven’t mentioned about your weight & status of your stools.
