First, understand this clearly: “Navel displacement (nabhi hilna)” is not a medically proven condition, but the symptoms you feel (pain, gas, irregular bowels) are usually due to digestive imbalance, muscle strain, or IBS-type issues. So treatment should focus on gut + abdominal muscle balance, not just “setting the navel”. What you can do: Avoid heavy lifting, sudden jerks, and irregular eating habits. Keep digestion strong: Eat warm, simple food. Avoid junk, cold drinks, and overeating. At home: Lie on your back and do gentle abdominal breathing Light yoga like Pawanmuktasana and Vajrasana helps You can apply warm castor oil on abdomen and do gentle clockwise massage. Hingvastak churna – ½ teaspoon with warm water before meals Avipattikar churna – ½ teaspoon at night These help regulate digestion and reduce symptoms. Important: If pain is persistent or severe, do basic tests (ultrasound, etc.) to rule out actual causes. Focus on digestion and muscle balance — that’s the real solution. Self-Correction Techniques— The Lamp Method (Deepak Therapy): A traditional method where a small lamp (diya) is placed on the navel, covered with a small vessel to create a vacuum. This suction pulls the nabhi back to the center. Yoga Asanas: Practicing Dhanurasana (Bow pose), Naukasana (Boat Pose), and Uttanpadasana (Raised Leg Pose) specifically helps in strengthening the core and realigning the navel. Post-Setting Care: Immediately after the navel is set back to the center, it is traditional to eat something solid yet light (like a bit of Moong Dal Khichdi or a piece of Jaggery) to “lock” it in place.
