It sounds like your concerns could be linked to an underlying imbalance in your dosha, particularly concerning the Vata dosha. Vata, when imbalanced, can lead to symptoms like unpredictable weight changes, lack of appetite, dry skin, and even hairfall. Ayurveda emphasizes understanding your prakriti (natural constitution) and dhatus (body tissues) to craft a suitable regimen for you.

To begin with, enhancing your agni or digestive fire is crucial so that your body can assimilate nutrients more effectively. You could consider starting your day with a glass of warm water infused with a squeeze of lemon and a pinch of ginger. This can help activate the digestive system, aiding in the better absorption of food.

Your diet should include warm, moist, nourishing foods that pacify Vata — think cooked grains like rice or quinoa, sweet fruits like bananas or mangoes, and dairy which are both soothing and grounding. Ghee is particularly effective in Vata imbalance. Consuming a teaspoon of ghee daily in your meals can nourish the tissues well.

Incorporating herbs such as Ashwagandha and Shatavari can be beneficial too. Ashwagandha promotes muscle growth, enhancing body mass, while Shatavari is excellent for hydration and nourishment. You can make a simple tonic by mixing Ashwagandha powder with warm milk, ideally at night.

Oiling the body daily with warm sesame oil, particularly focusing on the joints and dry areas, can help with dryness. This also includes hairfall management if you apply oil onto the scalp a few times a week.

Keeping stress levels in check with breathing exercises or simple yoga postures ensures Vata remains balanced. Anulom Vilom Pranayama might help calm your mind and improve overall circulation.

However, if these symptoms persist or worsen, it’s important to discuss them further with a healthcare professional directly, especially regarding weight loss and weakness, to rule out any underlying conditions. Ensure adequate sleep and maintain a routine to keep your body systems in harmony. Remember, consistency with these practices will yield the best results.

Thanks so much for clarifying this! I had no idea mixing meds could be risky. I'll stick to my doctor's meds and look into Ayurveda separately.
