It sounds like you’re experiencing high levels of stress, overthinking, poor sleep, and low confidence, which can significantly affect your overall well-being. In Ayurveda, these symptoms are often associated with an imbalance in Vata dosha, especially in the mind. To calm the mind and promote restful sleep, Ashwagandha and Brahmi are excellent herbs. Ashwagandha helps reduce stress and anxiety, while Brahmi improves mental clarity and strengthens confidence. You can take Ashwagandha churna or capsules twice daily, and Brahmi in the form of tea or tablets. Shankhpushpi is another effective herb for calming the mind and improving sleep.

Practicing Abhyanga (self-massage) with warm sesame oil before bed, followed by a warm bath, can also help pacify Vata and promote better sleep. Regular meditation and breathing exercises like Pranayama (especially Anulom Vilom and Bhramari) will further aid in calming the mind and improving focus.

To provide more specific advice, could you share:

How long have you been experiencing these symptoms? Are there any triggers that make your stress or overthinking worse? What is your daily routine and diet like? Have you tried any remedies or medications for stress and sleep before?

Hello Gaurav, exactly what is the nature of stress you have and since when do you have the symptoms? Are there any triggers that make your stress or overthinking worse? What is your daily routine and diet like? Have you tried any remedies or medications for stress and sleep before? How is your digestion & stools?

Stress about my life because I’m 32 and still unemployed. I can’t eat much I can’t sleep at night but I can sleep 5a.m to 9a.m that’s it Yes, I tried sleeping pills for sound sleep but that’s not permanent cure. My digestive system is not good I have constipation.

Feeling anxious and dealing with sleepless nights can be tough, I get it. Let’s figure this out together with some ayurvedic insights. Stress often ups the Vata dosha, which can lead to racing thoughts, restlessness, and yep, that lack of sleep you’re feeling. First off, let’s try addressing your nighttime routine.

Simple thing but, try having a cup of warm milk with a pinch of nutmeg or ashwagandha before bed - they can help calm your mind. (If lactose is not your friend, almond milk works well too). You might also try a self-massage with warm sesame oil. Just gently rub it in, especially on your feet and scalp, like you’re telling them to relax after a long day, you know?

For the racing thoughts, you could create a winding down pattern, kinda like preparing yourself to invite sleep. Consider meditation or just sitting quietly for a few minutes focusing on breathing… slowly. Like, inhale to the count of four, exhale to six. Repeat couple of times, no rushing. Over time your mind will go “oh, this is my relaxation time.”

About the confidence bit, recognize your inner chatter. It’s easy to get caught up, but notice when you’re being hard on yourself. Consider starting a gratitude journal, even if it feels odd first. Writing down good things, small or big, can slowly build in positivity.

Limit screen time before bed 'cause blue light really messes with your natural sleep cycle. If you’re into herbal remedies, a blend of Brahmi and Jatamansi might help. They are known for calming anxious nerves. But hey, these things might seem small but consistency matters, you know?

And remember, if stress and anxiety feels overwhelming, talking to a professional therapist can be incredibly useful. Ayurveda can be powerful for sure, but letting people in sometimes is equally healing.
