Dealing with hair issues can be a bit overwhelming. Let’s try a holistic Ayurvedic path to get things under control, yah? First, oily scalp and frizzy hair suggest a pitta-kapha imbalance. You’ve got an excess of oil while frizz indicates dryness. Bit of a paradox, right? Classic Ayurveda!
First up - diet. What you eat can really mess with your doshas. Try cutting down on pungent, spicy foods and oily, fried stuff. More fresh fruits n veggies, especially those that are sweet and bitter, like cucumbers and melons. Also add some good ol’ ghee to your meals. It soothes pitta and nourishes the body (and let’s be honest…taste amazing on most things).
About those supplements. Consider amalaki (Indian gooseberry), it’s great for pitta balance and hair health. Triphala is also a godsend – it’s a mix of three fruits that works wonders for detoxifying and managing that digestive fire (Agni). I’d also recommend taking a daily dose of Brahmi, which is not only calming to the mind but helps with hair loss.
For topical treatments, do warm oil massages with coconut or sesame oil mixed with neem or bhringraj oil once a week. Not only is it relaxing, but can also improve blood circulation to the scalp.
While you’re at it, try yoga or meditation to calm down your nervous system, yeah? Stress messes with our hair, no kidding. Yoga postures like forward bends and inversions improve blood flow to the head.
Lastly, a proper sleep schedule. Restorative sleep is crucial for hair health. Try getting to bed before 11pm. Aim for a wind-down routine to help you shift gears mentally and physically.
Remember, Ayurveda takes its sweet time. Be patient. Hair grows back slow, like watching paint dry. But with love and care, you’ll likely see things improve over time. Keep me posted!
