Hello Salim ji,
I can understand your concern regarding Itchy face and scalp (skull).but dont worry we are here to help you out😊
Since you already have high blood pressure and low hemoglobin (RBC count), this itching may also be linked to dryness of skin, poor circulation, or excess internal heat in the blood.
✅PROBABLE CAUSES
Excess tea, coffee, spicy or sour food Stress, sleeplessness, BP medicines leading to dryness Poor hydration Use of chemical shampoos or soaps Liver sluggishness or blood impurity (Rakta dushti)
✅AYURVEDIC PLAN OF TREATMENT-
✅INTERNAL MEDICATION
1 Sarivadyasava 20 ml-0-20ml with equal water After lunch & dinner (Purifies blood, reduces itching, balances Pitta)
2Arogyavardhini Vati 1-0-1 after food (Detoxifies liver and clears skin)
3 Manjisthadi ks tab 2-0-2 after food (Reduces redness, itching & inflammation)
4 Gandhak Rasayan 1-0-1 after food (Excellent for chronic itching and detoxification)
✅EXTERNAL CARE
✅ For Scalp Itching:
Apply Neelibhringadi Taila or Kayyunyadi Taila (lukewarm) on scalp 3 times a week. ( Leave for 45 minutes, then wash with mild herbal shampoo (Aloe vera or Shikakai base).
Avoid chemical-based shampoos and hair colors.
✅ For Face Itching:
Wash face with Aloe vera gel + rose water twice a day.
Once daily, apply paste of: 👉 Sandalwood powder (Chandan) + Manjistha powder + rose water. ( Keep for 10–15 minutes and rinse with cool water.)
If skin feels very dry, apply Kumkumadi Taila or Coconut oil with a few drops of lemon juice at night.
✅DIET AND LIFESTYLE MODIFICATION
✅ Include
Cooling and cleansing foods: Amla, cucumber, bottle gourd, coriander, and aloe vera juice. Hydration: 2.5–3 L of water daily; coconut water is excellent. Add 1 tsp cow ghee daily to diet — nourishes skin and balances Vata. Use turmeric + milk (¼ tsp haldi in warm milk at night) for purification.
❌ Avoid
Spicy, sour, and oily food. Red meat, fried food, alcohol, coffee, and smoking. Sleeping late and stress (increases Pitta).
Wishing you a good health😊
Warm. Regards Dr Snehal Vidhate
HELLO SALIM,
You have persistent itching on the face and scalp, which hasn’t improved even after trying moderate medicines and lotions This suggests the problem is internal (inside the body),to just on the surface of the skin
In Ayurveda , this skin and scalp are nourished by the Rakta dhatu (blood tissue) and are influenced by three energies or doshas - pitta (heat. fire energy) -kapha (moisture and oil ) - vata (dryness and movement)
When these are imbalanced , especially pitta and kapha, you are experience -itching -oiily or dry scalp -dandruff - redness or irritation -burning or tingling sensation - hairfall or scalp scaling
WHY ITCHING HAPPENS
PITTA IMBALANCE= too much heat in body- burning, redness, itching, scalp irrtiation
KAPHA IMBALANCE= too much oil, mucus or toxins- oily dandruff, sticky scalp, itching with white flakes
RAKTA DHATU (impure blood)= blood carries waste or toxins-- skin itching, rashes, acne like spots
VATA IMBALANCE= dryness in body tiisues- dry itchy scalp, flaky skin
POOR DIGESTION= undigested food forms toxins- itching worsens, lotions don’'t help
STRESS AND SLEEP ISSUES= increses pitta and vata- triggers itching episodes, especially at night
You also mentioned high blood pressure and low red blood cells (anemia)- both can worsen itching -high Bp increases pitta - Anemia weakens Rakta dhatu (blood tissue), reducing nourishment to skin and scalp
TREATMENT GOALS -reduce itching. and inflammation - cleanse liver and blood to remove toxins - strengthen blood and improve skin texture - prevent recurrence - reduce stress and control doshas naturally

An itchy face and skull could hint at an underlying imbalance related to your Vata dosha. In Ayurveda, Vata governs movement and is responsible for sensitivity issues, dryness, and irritation on the skin. Dry, cold weather or excessive exposure to harsh wind could exacerbate your symptoms. To address this, a nourishing approach can be considered.
Firstly, use warm, oil massages to pacify Vata. Sesame oil or coconut oil are great options—gently massage your scalp and face with warm oil as part of your daily routine. Allow it to penetrate for about 20/30 minutes before washing with a mild Ayurvedic shampoo or cleanser. Avoid hot water, which may dry out your skin further.
Consider your diet too, make sure it’s rich in healthy fats. Incorporate ghee, avocados, and nuts like almonds into your meals. These support how your tissues hydrated and supple. Warm, cooked meals alongside spices like turmeric or ginger can improve your digestive fire, or agni, and help you assimilate these nutrients better.
Certain herbal remedies, such as neem leaves, help with itchy conditions due to their cooling and anti-inflammatory properties. You can apply neem paste on afflicted areas or consume neem tablets—just ensure moderation, and consult an expert for dosage.
Pay attention to stress levels as well, since Vata gets aggravated with excessive stimulation or lack of routine. Meditation or a gentle yoga practise can assist in keeping your mind calm, stabilizing your body’s rhythms, and reducing itchy sensations.
If there’s no improvement with Ayurvedic measures or if symptoms get worse, please seek medical attention. It’s essential to rule out allergies, infections, or other serious conditions which may need professional treatment.
Itchy sensations on the face and skull can stem from various causes, and the root of this issue might lie in an imbalance of the three doshas—vata, pitta, and kapha. Often, itchiness can be attributed to a vata imbalance, leading to dryness, or an excess of pitta, causing heat and inflammation. Occasionally, kapha’s damp quality might also play a role, especially if there’s an underlying scalp condition.
Firstly, considering you’re finding no relief from conventional treatments, it might be beneficial to focus on balancing your doshas. Begin by adding more cooked, warm and unctuous foods into your diet. Avoid cold, raw, spicy, and excessively greasy foods as they can aggravate vata and pitta. You might find it helpful to introduce cooling herbs like cilantro or mint in your meals.
Next, consider oil massage, abhyanga, featuring an appropriate oil for your dominant dosha. For vata, sesame oil works well; coconut oil can be cooling for pitta; and mustard oil might be suitable for kapha. Gently massage the oil onto your scalp and face before washing it off. Make this a regular part of your routine, couple of times a week.
Additionally, nasya (nasal administration) of oil such as anu taila can nourish and pacify the doshas affecting the head region. Place a few drops in each nostril daily to potentially alleviate the itchiness.
Lastly, if these methods offer no relief or the itchiness worsens, there might be an underlying skin condition or dermatological issue requiring immediate medical attention. It wouldn’t be advisable to delay seeing a healthcare professional in such cases, as a timely diagnosis can offer you a more directed path to relief and treatment beyond traditional Ayurveda if necessary.
