Natural methods like sugaring, turmeric, and topical applications of lemon juice and sugar can be beneficial but, it’s important to understand that they won’t typically lead to permanent hair removal. In the Siddha-Ayurvedic tradition, the focus is on balancing the body’s internal constitution or doshas, which can influence hair growth.
Firstly, analyzing your prakriti (body constitution) might reveal a predominance of kapha, which can sometimes lead to denser hair growth. In such cases, lifestyle adjustments including a diet that balances kapha could help. Incorporate warming spices such as black pepper, ginger, and turmeric into your diet, which may assist in gently adjusting your internal balance.
For external applications, using turmeric paste regularly can slowly weaken hair growth. Make a paste of turmeric powder and water or milk and apply it to the affected areas, leaving it on until dry before washing off. Consistency is key, so consider applying it 2-3 times weekly.
Papaya mixed with turmeric is another effective remedy. Papaya contains an enzyme called papain, which can inhibit hair growth. Make a paste using the two, apply, and leave for around 20 minutes before rinsing. Do this 3 times a week.
These treatments, performed regularly, encourage the weakening of hair follicles over time, but remember it’s a gradual process and patience is essential.
Lastly, maintain a healthy digestive fire, or agni, since it plays a crucial role in regulating overall health. Ensure regular bowel movements and proper digestion by drinking warm water and consuming plenty of fiber. While these steps can potentially reduce hair growth, permanent results might require advanced techniques or treatments.
