How can I cure my joints pain? - #427

Aparna Sharma

I had a viral fever some days ago after which joint pain has been started in various joints of my body. Doctor has diagnosed it as beginning of arthritis on the basis of symptoms not any test conducted. I want to know some home remedies and excercises to reverse the effect of arthritis and to stop it from being more. And if any effective ayurvedic medication is there for arthritis then please let me know?

Hello Ma’am , Post-viral arthritis can be managed with Ayurvedic remedies and gentle exercises. Try anti-inflammatory turmeric and dry ginger tea (add a pinch of both to a cup of hot water, have twice in the day) consume raw garlic or soaked fenugreek seeds for joint relief, and massage affected joints with warm sesame oil or Mahanarayan oil. Gentle stretching, range of motion exercises, and short walks can maintain flexibility. Ayurvedic herbs like, Cap Shallaki (Boswellia), and Mahayogaraj Guggul are effective for reducing inflammation and pain but needs doctors guidance. Additionally, therapies like Abhyanga (oil massage) and Panchakarma detox can support long-term relief. Favor a warm, anti-inflammatory diet with spices and avoid cold, raw foods to balance Vata. Consult an Ayurvedic practitioner for more personalized care.

Post-viral joint pain and the early signs of arthritis are often linked to aggravated Vata and Ama (toxins) in Ayurveda, which can accumulate in the joints and lead to stiffness and pain. To help reverse early arthritis and manage joint health, consider starting with Ashwagandha and Shallaki (Boswellia serrata), both known for their anti-inflammatory and joint-supportive properties. Another effective Ayurvedic formulation is Mahayograj Guggulu, which helps reduce pain and strengthen the joints; however, this should be taken under guidance.

At home, incorporating warm turmeric milk with a pinch of black pepper before bedtime can be beneficial for inflammation and immunity. Adding ginger and garlic to meals may also help reduce pain, as they support circulation and reduce Ama in the body. Daily Abhyanga (self-massage) with warm sesame oil or Mahanarayan oil can improve joint flexibility and relieve stiffness, especially before a warm bath.

For exercises, gentle yoga poses like Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose), Setu Bandhasana (Bridge Pose), and seated stretches can support flexibility and strengthen the joints without strain. Regular, low-impact activities like walking or swimming are also beneficial. Could you share more about your diet and daily routine to help customize your treatment?

Joint pain after viral fever can be pretty annoying, I feel you. The good news is Ayurveda has some good ways to help manage joint discomfort. One of the key things here is balancing Vata dosha, since it often plays a major role in joint issues.

First up, diet. You wanna keep things light and warm. Avoiding cold, dry, or raw foods is key. Think cooked veggies, warm soups, and stews. Use spices like ginger, turmeric, and black pepper – they help improve circulation and reduce inflammation. Ghee also has anti-inflammatory properties, so a little drizzle on your meals is great.

Hydration is crucial too. Warm water can actually improve digestion, which is important for agni. If your digestion is working properly, the body’s waste gets eliminated better and joints don’t accumulate toxins. Sip on some ginger or dashamula tea for added support.

Hey, let’s talk exercises. Gentle yoga or stretching can do wonders. Focus on movements that encourage joint flexibility without straining them. Sun salutations, cat-cow stretches, or simple arm rotations are a good start. Just make sure you’re not overdoing it or causing pain—little discomfort especially at the start is okay, but pain isn’t.

For herbal support, Dashmool or Guggulu formulations are often suggested for joint pain. They should be taken based on a personalized recommendation from a local Ayurveda practitioner, considering they can need customization to fit your specific constitution.

You could also try self-massage with warm sesame oil or medicated oils like Mahanarayan oil. This can ease stiffness and support circulation. Just a quick rub in circles over the painful joints before a warm shower or bath goes a long way.

Since a doctor mentioned arthritis, it’s still important to keep open communication with them. Especially if the pain worsens or doesn’t ease up after some efforts. Similarly, if you notice any swelling, redness, or heat in your joints, those are times to seek medical attention too.

Consistency is key, don’t expect miracles overnight, right? Stay patient and kind to your body!.
