Hello Thank you for contacting ask ayurveda I am glad that You are getting relief by using sitopaladi churna with honey . I will advise to continue this medication for some time , later skip for couple of weeks and restart. But once get a CT PNS to rule out any DNS AND ITH. DIET Eat high fibre foods Avoid spicy foods and cold foods Avoid exposure to cold
Thank you for follow up Yes I do remember in your previous quiery you had nasal dryness with good bp control and even after stopping Mukta vati the dryness continued
Due to vata aggrevation sometimes the inner lining becomes too dry n it gets inflamed and the body produces e tr mucus as a protective response Which turns into this lingering congestion It can last even 4 to 6 weeks especially in dry climates lik us or during colder months The important thing is it’s better than the first week which means the mucosa is slowly repairing Continue steam inhalation , Sithophaladi churna n do not worry it will resolve within few weeks
Don’t worry take Laxmi vilas ras 1tab bd enough
Hello 😊 I know very well that it is very irritating feeling that you still have the nasal stuffiness although you have stopped Mukta Vati for almost a month.
YOUR CONDITION & PROBABLE AYURVEDIC CAUSE Your main concerns: – Nasal congestion persisting 28 days after stopping Mukta Vati – Moderate congestion interfering with routine – No past history of sinus/allergy issues – No diet or lifestyle changes – No specific triggers
Ayurvedic understanding: Normally, the use of Mukta Vati itself is not associated with the occurrence of nasal congestion that lasts for a long time.
But for those who are very sensitive, it can: Lower Pitta a little → thus increasing Kapha dominance Trigger Ama (toxins) accumulation Slow down nasal passage clearance After stopping the drug, cause rebound Kapha aggravation
AYURVEDIC TREATMENT PLAN
1. Internal Medicines
a) Sitopaladi Churna + Honey ½ tsp + 1 tsp honey, twice daily after meals (An excellent remedy for lingering congestion, it removes Kapha, and opens nasal passages)
Continue sitopaladi churna with external care and home remedies
2. EXTERNAL CARE
a) Steam inhalation Warm water + pinch of Ajwain 10 minutes daily — helps open nasal passages.
b) Warm oil application (NO nasal drops) At the nostril entrance only, not inside, a drop of warm sesame oil is applied. Reduces dryness & irritation.
c) Warm saline gargles 1–2 times daily to reduce post-nasal congestion.
HOME REMEDIES
–Warm water sipping throughout the day –Add black pepper + ginger to food –Tulsi + ginger tea morning & evening –Do not sleep immediately after food –Avoid dairy at night (increases Kapha)
LIFESTYLE TIPS
Sleep with head slightly elevated Avoid cold exposure & late-night screen time
Light pranayama: Nadi Shodhana – Bhastrika (slow, 20 strokes)
Morning sun exposure 10 minutes
INVESTIGATIONS (Congestion is prolonged I would recommend you to get the following blood tests)
–CBC –ESR –Allergy profile –Sinus X-ray (if persistent pressure or headaches)
Your nasal congestion is a Kapha-Vata imbalance triggered after stopping Mukta Vati, not a permanent side-effect.
With Sitopaladi, Kapha-reducing diet, and good lifestyle care, your symptoms will go away completely.
Warm Regards Dr Snehal Vidhate
The herbs caused your nasal blood vessels to relax and swell. They are currently stuck in this dilated state, causing congestion without much mucus.
Optimized Protocol The Mix: Take 1/2 tsp Sitopaladi Churna + 1 pinch Black Pepper + 1 pinch Turmeric.
Mix with Honey and lick slowly 3 times a day. (The Black Pepper is crucial here to naturally constrict the swollen vessels)
External Therapy Steam: Inhale steam with a pinch of Turmeric or Eucalyptus oil twice daily to shrink the lining.
Apply warm Ghee or Anu Tailam inside the nostrils to soothe irritation.
Dietary Advice Avoid: Cold water, ice cream and yogurt (curd) strictly for 7 days. Sip warm water only.

Thank you, Sir - there is hardly any mucus, only the congestion. Hopefully the Sitopaladi mix with honey won’t take too long to alleviate the condition…
