मेरी पीरियड्स अनियमित हैं और मैं एंटी डिप्रेशन दवाएं भी ले रही हूँ। मैंने आधा चम्मच शतावरी और अश्वगंधा लेना शुरू किया है, लेकिन मेरा वजन बढ़ रहा है। क्या इन दोनों दवाओं की वजह से वजन बढ़ रहा है?

Hello Main issue: Artava Dushti (irregular menses) Likely causes:

Kapha + Meda vriddhi (weight gain tendency)

Agnimandya (weak digestion/metabolism)

Apana Vata dushti (cycle irregularity)

Possible PCOS/thyroid tendency (needs confirmation)

⚠️ Important note: Ashwagandha + Shatavari are guru/snigdha (heavy, nourishing) → can increase Kapha/Meda, hence mild weight gain in some patients, especially if metabolism is slow.

🌿 AYURVEDIC PRESCRIPTION (Rx)

1) For Irregular Periods + Hormonal Balance (Artava Pravartana)

✅ Rajahpravartini Vati

Dose: 1 tab BD

With: Lukewarm water

After food

Duration: 45 days

If periods are very delayed: can be used 5 days before expected date too.

2) For Hormonal Regulation + PCOS tendency + Metabolic correction

✅ Kanchanar Guggulu

Dose: 2 tab BD

With: Lukewarm water

After meals

Duration: 60 days

✅ Triphala Guggulu

Dose: 2 tab HS (night)

With: warm water

Duration: 60 days

3) For Weight gain + Agni Deepana (Fat metabolism)

✅ Chitrakadi Vati

Dose: 1 tab BD

Timing: 15 minutes before food

Duration: 30 days

✅ Triphala Churna

Dose: 1 tsp at night

With: lukewarm water

Duration: 60 days

4) For Stress/Anxiety (Safe supportive while on antidepressants)

⚠️ Avoid heavy Ashwagandha if gaining weight.

✅ Brahmi Vati (or Brahmi Ghrita if dryness/anxiety)

Dose: 1 tab OD

After dinner

Duration: 45 days

✅ Jatamansi Churna

Dose: ¼ tsp at bedtime

With: warm water / honey

Duration: 30–45 days

⚠️ If patient is on antidepressants: keep dose low and monitor sleepiness.

❌ Stop / Modify Current Herbs

Shatavari

➡️ Stop for now (especially if weight gain, Kapha dominance).

Ashwagandha

➡️ Reduce to ¼ tsp only at night, OR stop if:

weight continues increasing

sleepiness/heaviness increases

🍵 Home Remedy (Very effective)

✅ Cinnamon + Ginger water

Boil: 1 inch cinnamon + ½ inch ginger

Drink: 1 cup daily after breakfast

✅ Jeera + Ajwain + Saunf water

Take equal parts, boil 1 tsp in 2 cups water → reduce to 1 cup

Drink evening daily

🥗 Diet Plan (Artava + Weight control)

Prefer

Warm cooked food, light dinner

Millets: ragi, bajra

Vegetables: lauki, tinda, karela, methi

Protein: moong dal, sprouts

1 tsp flaxseed daily (hormonal support)

Avoid

Curd at night

Excess sweets, bakery, chocolates

Cold drinks, packaged food

Excess milk-based products

🧘 Yoga / Exercise

✅ 30–45 min daily brisk walk ✅ Yoga:

Baddha Konasana

Bhujangasana

Setu Bandhasana

Dhanurasana

Anulom Vilom 10 min

Bhramari 5 min
