Hello Shana, It’s great to hear that you’ve made positive changes with your diet and exercise, leading to weight loss. In Ayurveda, bloating, diarrhea, and indigestion are often linked to an imbalance in the Pitta and Vata doshas, which can affect digestion, especially with fried and spicy foods. To improve these issues, it’s important to follow a Pitta-balancing diet, focusing on warm, easily digestible, and non-spicy foods. Herbs like Triphala, Turmeric, and Ginger can help support digestion and reduce bloating. Additionally, practicing mindful eating and avoiding heavy, oily, or overly spicy foods will support your digestive system. It would be helpful to know if you have had any follow-up tests for your gallstones or liver function, as these conditions could also contribute to digestive discomfort. How are your overall energy levels, sleep, and stress management?

Hi Shana Since you have gallstones, NAFLD (Grade 1), H. pylori, and Candida history, but have already lost 30 pounds and improved your lifestyle, your bloating, diarrhea, and indigestion after fried & spicy foods could be due to: 1. Weak Gallbladder Function – Trouble digesting fats due to gallstones. 2. Post-H. Pylori Sensitivity – Stomach lining still healing, causing indigestion. 3. Candida Imbalance – May still trigger bloating and loose stools. 4. Liver Sensitivity (NAFLD) – Spicy & fried foods stress liver function. ⸻ 1. Ayurvedic & Natural Remedies for Better Digestion ✅ Morning Detox Drink (Supports Liver & Gallbladder) • ½ tsp turmeric + 1 tsp fresh lemon juice + 1 glass warm water 👉 Improves bile flow & cleanses liver naturally. ✅ Digestive Drink Before Meals • ½ tsp ajwain (carom seeds) + ½ tsp saunf (fennel) + pinch of black salt in warm water 👉 Prevents bloating, indigestion & diarrhea after food. ✅ For Immediate Bloating Relief • ¼ tsp hing (asafoetida) + ½ tsp jeera (cumin) powder in warm water 👉 Instantly reduces gas & indigestion. ✅ Probiotic Support • Have homemade buttermilk with cumin & mint after meals • Include fermented foods (curd, kimchi, sauerkraut) to balance gut bacteria ⸻ 2. Diet Plan for Your Condition ✅ Best Foods for Gallbladder & NAFLD • Easy-to-digest foods – Moong dal, lauki, tori, daliya, steamed veggies. • High-fiber fruits – Papaya, apples (avoid citrus if it triggers acidity). • Good fats – 1 tsp ghee daily (helps bile flow without stressing gallbladder). • Lean protein – Lentils, tofu, fish (if non-veg). Avoid These (Trigger Bloating & Indigestion): ❌ Fried, oily, and spicy foods (difficult for gallbladder & liver). ❌ Dairy (except buttermilk & curd) (can trigger Candida issues). ❌ Refined sugar & processed foods (feed Candida & cause gut imbalance). ❌ Carbonated drinks & excessive tea/coffee (increase acidity & bloating). ⸻ 3. Lifestyle Tips to Improve Digestion ✅ Eat small meals (large meals stress gallbladder). ✅ Chew food slowly (helps break down food better). ✅ 20-minute walk after meals (improves digestion). ✅ Sit in Vajrasana for 5 mins after eating (prevents bloating). ⸻ 4. If Symptoms Persist • Get an ultrasound to check gallstone size. • Repeat H. pylori test (if symptoms continue). • Check Vitamin B12 & D levels (low in NAFLD cases). With these changes, you should see improvements in bloating & digestion within 2-3 weeks. Let me know if you need a more detailed meal plan!

Certainly, it's great to hear you've already made such progress by eating healthy and exercising regularly. This is a strong foundation for further Ayurvedic support. When dealing with your conditions—gallstones, NAFLD grade 1, Hypolori, and candida—consider these approaches: Firstly, let's talk diet. It's crucial to maintain a calming and supportive diet for your liver and digestion. Avoid fried and spicy foods, as they can increase Pitta dosha, leading to further bloating and indigestion. Instead, opt for steamed or boiled foods. Think of warm, cooked meals that are easy to digest. Incorporate herbs like turmeric and ginger, which support liver function. Just ensure ginger is used in moderation to avoid excessive heat. Next, digestive support is essential. Consider taking Triphala at night with warm water. This is a traditional Ayurvedic remedy known for promoting digestion and can help with indigestion issues. For bloating, try drinking fennel tea after meals; it’s soothing and helps reduce gas. To support liver health and help with NAFLD, incorporating bitter greens like kale, spinach, or dandelion greens can be beneficial. These help cleanse and detoxify the liver. Try incorporating a moderate amount of healthy fats, like ghee or olive oil, which are easier for the liver to process compared to fried oils. It's good to focus on whole grains such as quinoa or brown rice that are light yet nourishing. Exercise is fantastic, so continue your regimen, but ensure that it's not overly strenuous, as excessive exercise can increase stress and affect digestion. Lastly, addressing stress levels with calming techniques like meditation or yoga can be very helpful, as stress impacts digestion. Aim for consistency in these practices to see benefits over time. As always, if symptoms persist or worsen, consulting with a qualified healthcare provider is essential to ensure there are no complications needing urgent attention. Remember, while Ayurveda offers valuable support, modern medicine is crucial in managing these conditions successfully.
