Gastritis with sour saliva, sensitivity to simplest foods, gas in lower bowels mild constipation - #20266

Subbu

I have been having issues with Gastritis since last few years and this started after i contacted covid 3 years back. Since the last 4 months it is aggravated inspite of severe food restrictions. I have been taking the following ayuvedic remedies 1. Kamadudha rasa 1 - 0 - 0 2. Kamadudha plain 0 - 0 - 1 3. Amlapitta Mishra. 15ml TDS 4. Praval Panchamrit plain 0 - 1/2 - 1 5. Shankhavati 0 - 1 - 1/2 Since th4 past 4 months the symptoms only have ameliorated mildly but not returned to normal. I still have loss of appetite, mild sour saliva after meals, on-off epigastric pains, pains in hypogastric regions , mild constipation. I eat sufficient fibre in the diet with sufficient vegetables. Even fermented curd rice gives me heaviness. I cannot take lentils as they become difficult to digest, ghee and oils diffllicult to digest I am taking the simplest of foods 1. Morning Fermented curd rice, 1 small chapati, beetroot and carrot boiled sabji 2. Afternoon. Chapati , plain white rice, Green cauliflower peas sabji, Yellow pumpkin and raw banana sabji. Knol khol boiled sabji . 3. Night - same as afternoon but reduced quantity Drink 7-8 glasses of water

Your persistent gastritis, worsened post-COVID, suggests a weakened digestive fire (Agni) and possible lingering inflammation in the gut lining. Since your symptoms have only mildly improved with your current treatment, some refinements may help Instead of shankavati switch on to Avipattikara churna- 1/4 th tsp before meals with fresh water Alovera juice 10 mL with water once daily Avoid fermented curds, reduce raw fibre , instead of lentils use moongdal, avoid cauliflower peas Soak 5 black raisins at night and wat them at morning 1 tsp ghee with milk at night ( if tolerated)

Thank you tor the explanation. Is there any specific treatment for Hpylori in ayurveda ?
Instead of shankavati take Avipattikara churna 1/2 tsp before meals (1/2 an hr) with fresh water Among lentils preferably take moongdal If you are lactose intolerant then avoid it You can take packaged alovera juice preferably at morning on empty stomach diluted with water start with 10 mL

Lentils refers to all Daal varieties. Milk lactose intolerance and ghee currently a bit difficult to digest. So milk and ghee cannot take a teaspoon night. Could you please elaborate on replacing shankhavati with Avipattikar churna. Aloe vera juice is it OK to take the ones that are available ready packaged difficult to get the fresh leaves. What is the best time to take this ?
Your symptoms suggest an imbalance in your pitta dosha and possibly some issues with the digestive fire, or agni. This can lead to symptoms like sour saliva, epigastric pain, and difficulty digesting certain foods. The remedies you've been taking seem well-targeted, but let's refine your approach a bit to see if we can bring about more meaningful improvements. Firstly, it's essential to understand that gastric issues can sometimes be exacerbated by even well-intentioned dietary choices. Fermented foods like curd and even some vegetables in raw form can increase acidity and lead to digestive disturbances, particularly if your agni is low. You mentioned fermented curd rice causing heaviness, which hints at this disturbance. Consider these additional adjustments: 1. *Digestive Spices*: Include gentle spices like cumin, coriander, fennel, and a pinch of asafoetida (hing) in your meals. They improve digestion and reduce gas formation. 2. *Warmth over Cold*: Ensure whatever you eat is warm. Cold foods can further suppress agni. Warm water with a sprinkle of ginger and a splash of lemon in the morning can stimulate digestion. 3. *Avoid Lentils Temporarily*: While they are nutritious, they can be heavy to digest. Put them aside until your digestion stabilizes and consider softer proteins like mung dal, which is easier on the stomach. 4. *Avoid Nightshades*: Cut eggplant and excessive tomatoes as they can aggravate Pitta. Swap them with more bitter, leafy greens. 5. *Triphala Churna*: Consider this in a small dose before bed. It can help with mild constipation and balance your doshas. 6. *Ghee Moderation*: Use it sparingly, perhaps no more than a teaspoon daily, as it can help repair the digestive lining but may aggravate pitta if taken excessively. Lastly, this current situation sounding like it's dragging has a way of affecting your mind too. Mindfulness and yoga can help ease the stress component that sometimes accompanies chronic issues. Ensure you also have enough time to eat meals slowly and without distractions, allowing your body to better receive the nutrition. If symptoms persist or worsen, it's crucial to consult with both your Ayurvedic practitioner and a conventional medical doctor to rule out any underlying conditions that may be contributing to your symptoms.
