In Ayurveda, the focus is often on balance and keeping the doshas – Vata, Pitta, and Kapha – in harmony to support tissue health and function. In chronic conditions like pancreatitis with fibrosis, our goal is to strengthen digestive health, potentially slow down progression and improve overall well-being. Though fibrosis in itself is a tough change to reverse completely, Ayurveda offers ways to manage the condition better. Now looking at your symptoms, let's consider dietary and lifestyle modifications firsts. We need to focus on enhancing Agni (digestive fire), which, when weak, can lead to further complications. Consume warm, nourishing foods that are easy to digest, such as well-cooked rice with moong dal, and avoid raw, cold foods that may aggravate Vata and reduce Ojas (vitality). Consider incorporating spices like ginger, cumin, and fennel into your meals to stimulate Agni. Also, begin taking a pinch of trikatu churna (a blend of black pepper, long pepper, and ginger) with honey before meals to spark digestion. Rest and stress management are crucial; yoga and pranayama (breathing exercises), particularly those focusing on relaxation, can also be beneficial. Gentle poses like Vajrasana after meals and diaphragmatic breathing help balance Vata dosha which is often elevated in ongoing conditions. It's important to note that regrowing the pancreas is challenging and not entirely feasible through Ayurveda or other medical treatments alone, as fibrous tissue often becomes a permanent change. However, working with an Ayurvedic practitioner alongside your healthcare provider can guide you in maintaining the health of remaining pancreatic tissue. Please connect with certified Ayurveda practitioners in your area for personalized care. I can’t provide personal contacts or practice outside correct professional conduct. Consulting your primary healthcare provider is also important, especially when considering changes to your treatment regime.
