Firstly, for your daughter dealing with IBS, Ayurveda sees it as a vata dosha imbalance. The digestive system may be weak. So focusing on nurturing the agni ( digestive fire) can be helpful. Start with introducing a vata-pacifying diet. Warm, cooked meals with easy-to-digest grains like rice can soothe the digestive tract. Spices like ginger and cumin, in small amounts, are beneficial. Avoid cold, raw, or processed foods and anything that’s too oily or spicy since they can upset digestion.

For the undigested pulses and milk products, switching to alternatives might be beneficial. Try lentils over larger beans and consider rice or almond milk if dairy is problematic. Papaya, while generally healthy, might be too cooling for her. Introduce fruits like apples, but ensure they’re warm and cooked.

Regarding migraines, these can also be linked to vata and pitta imbalances. Practicing a calming routine with regular sleep patterns is essential. Encourage her to practice Pranayama daily; it’s a breathing exercise that can significantly help calm the nervous system. An Ayurvedic herb like Brahmi might assist, work with an Ayurvedic practitioner regarding dosage.

The thyroid issue indicates a kapha imbalance, making a thyroid-friendly diet essential. Seaweed, in moderate amounts, can help maintain thyroid function. Again, consult with a practitioner to ensure safety, especially considering her iron deficiency, which often accompanies hypothyroid conditions. Appropriate natural iron sources, like beetroot juice, can help stabilize her iron levels without interfering with it.

Hair fall is likely related to both her iron deficiency and thyroid problem. A gentle scalp massage using Ayurvedic oils like Bhringraj or Amla could encourage hair growth.

Finding an experienced Ayurvedic practitioner who can help personalize and refine these recommendations based on her specific constitution and imbalances is invaluable. Keep monitoring her health and consult medical professionals whenever needed to ensure a holistic approach works collaboratively with any existing treatments.
