Doctors’ responses

It sounds like you're dealing with some persistent joint and back pain, along with the unsettling noise coming from your joints. Given your negative CRP, ESR, and rheumatoid factor tests, and the MRI showing partially disc dissection, there may be an underlying imbalance that needs addressing. In Ayurveda, such symptoms can often be linked to Vata dosha imbalances, which are known to affect joint health and lead to pain, stiffness, and those popping sounds. Firstly, focusing on balancing the Vata dosha is essential. You might consider incorporating a diet that's warm, nourishing, and grounding. Favor cooked foods and warm beverages, like herbal teas, and emphasize oleation using healthy fats like ghee and sesame oil, as these can help lubricate the joints and improve flexibility. Avoid raw, cold, and dry foods as they aggravate Vata. Routine abhyanga, or self-massage with warm sesame oil, can be beneficial. This should be done daily before a bath. It helps not only in reducing Vata but also in improving circulation and easing joint pain. Following this, a warm bath can further soothe muscles and joints. Incorporate gentle yoga and stretching exercises tailored to your comfort level. Poses like Bhujangasana (Cobra), Ardha Matsyendrasana (Half Lord of the Fishes Pose), and gentle neck and shoulder exercises can provide relief but always listen to your body and avoid overstraining. Herbal supplements may also aid in managing pain and inflammation. Ashwagandha and Shallaki (Boswellia) are two herbs known for their anti-inflammatory properties. They should be taken under guidance of a qualifieed practitioner to ensure they're right for you. Lastly, ensure proper hydration, as water helps maintain joint health and should not be overlooked. If despite these measures your discomfort persists or worsens, consulting a healthcare professional is crucial; sometimes, a multi-disciplinary approach is needed to unravel complex joint issues. Always keep your primary care physician informed any new regimes you start, especially if you're considering supplements or significant dietary changes.
