Itseems like the itching you're experiencing could be linked to a few factors such as heat, sweat and possibly histamine release at night. Ayurveda looks into such disturbances by examining the balance of doshas, especially Pitta and Vata doshas which could be causing the sensation of itchiness. For relief, we can explore some ayurveda options, starting with topical and lifestyle remedies. You might want to apply coconut oil or sesame oil infused with neem leaves. Neem possess natural anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial properties that help in soothe the skin and reduce inflammation. Gently warm the oil, adding neem leaves, allowing them to steep for a few hours. Strain it before use. Apply it on the affected areas before you sleep. Additionally, consider taking a bath with an astringent herbal bath powder. Ingredients like chickpea flour (besan), turmeric, and sandalwood powder mixed with some dried neem leaf powder can be helpful. Just apply the powder on wet skin, let it stay for a few minutes, and then rinse it off. Since you mentioned an increase in symptoms in summer, maintaining a cool environment might help. Wear loose, breathable cotton clothes to allow air circulation. Avoid wearing synthetic fabrics that could irritate your skin. For diet, focus on balancing Pitta, reduce spicy, fried or overly salty foods. Increasing intake of cucumber, watermelon or coconut water in your diet can cool the body from within. Remember to stay hydrated, as dehydration can aggravate Vata and Pitta. Drink warm, herbal teas or simply plain water. If there's no improvement in the condition within a few weeks, or if it worsen, it is crucial to consult with a healthcare professional for a proper diagnosis and treatment. Its always essential to focus on both topical solutions as well as balancing your doshas internally for a holistic approach.
