Is hyper IgE level despite being almost asymptomatic matter to worry ? Is it that much harmful? - #23634

Priya Shaw

I am under consult of a BAMS doctor since the past three months. Last month I had IgE around 1700 IU/ml. He prescribed me to take an another test after one month. But this time the report revealed the IgE level to rise up and reach around 3000 ng/ml. But under his guidance and medicine prescribed by him, I have been almost asymptomatic. I just have very little issues regarding 4-5 times sneezing a day. Doctor found no other problem after a lot of information exchange with me. so I just want to know whether this much IgE level is okay to have as I am asymptomatic,,, or it can cause serious problems in my body in future? ,,, or is it my other internal body issue which is opposing my body to reduce the IgE level?

While an elevated IgE level can indicate underlying allergic reactions or an overactive immune response, it's important to consider how you're feeling overall. Since you're asymptomatic and only experiencing occasional sneezing, it might suggest that whatever underlying imbalance exists isn't manifesting in severe symptoms right now. However, a persistently high IgE level may signal an ongoing, silent process that could potentially lead to more pronounced issues later. From an Ayurvedic perspective, we'd look at this from the standpoint of dosha imbalance, particularly an imbalance in Vata or Kapha, which could manifest as allergies or hypersensitivity responses. Ayurveda seeks to address the root cause of imbalances, so focusing on bringing these doshas into harmony might be helpful. Your digestive fire, or Agni, plays a crucial role in maintaining balance. Strengthening it can contribute to overall immune health. Consider incorporating ginger tea into your daily routine to aid digestion and balance Agni. It's simple to make—just boil fresh ginger slices in water, and drink it warm in the morning. Dietary considerations are also vital. Avoid foods that can exacerbate Kapha, such as excessively heavy, fried, or dairy-heavy meals. Opt for lighter, freshly prepared foods. Favor warming spices like cumin, coriander, and turmeric, which can help balance Kapha and Vata. Pranayama or guided breathing exercises can also be beneficial for pacifying the mind and body, reducing stress, and potentially lowering overall immune reactivity. All these recommendations are to support overall health and potentially assist in regulating IgE levels naturally. However, staying in close touch with your BAMS doctor and continually monitoring any changes in symptoms is essential. If you notice new symptoms or changes, it might be worth reevaluating. Balancing caution with the wisdom of your body's signals is key. Regular follow-ups with your healthcare provider are important to ensure that if adjustments need to be made in your treatment, they can be identified and addressed promptly.
