how to apply gulab jal on face - #24258

Harper

I am struggling with some skin issues lately, and I’ve heard that gulab jal could help. My friend swears by it—she says it works wonders for her dryness, but honestly, I’m not even sure how to apply gulab jal on face the right way. I've tried just splashing some on, but that didn’t seem to help much. My skin feels super tight, and I get these weird patches that look kinda grayish or dull. I thought maybe gulab jal could refresh it, but I get confused with all the different ways people say to use it. Should I use a cotton ball or just spray it? And like, how often to apply gulab jal on face for it to do any good? I saw some DIYs, but they seem kinda complicated for my busy schedule. Also, do I need to do a patch test first?? I really hope this can fit into my life without too much hassle. Any tips or experiences you all can share would really help me out! Thanks!

Applying gulab jal, or rose water, to the face is actually simpler than it seems, and it can indeed be beneficial for addressing dryness and dullness. Here's a low-hassle approach that you can easily incorporate into your routine: First, yes, a patch test is always a good idea. Apply a small amount of gulab jal to the inside of your wrist or behind your ear and monitor for any irritation over 24 hours. This will ensure that your skin responds well to it. Once you’re clear, you can either use a cotton ball or spray application, depending on your preference. If using a cotton ball, lightly moisten it with gulab jal and gently dab it onto your face after cleansing. This method is quite effective in ensuring even application, particularly for problem areas like dry patches. If you're more into convenience, a spray bottle offers a fuss-free way. Simply spray gulab jal directly onto your face, keeping an inch distance to achieve a nice, even mist. Let it air dry naturally—this hydrating step could be incorporated after cleansing both in the morning and evening. For added nourishment, you could mix a few drops of rose water with your regular moisturizer or facial oil. Applying this blend twice a day can enhance hydration, providing relief to tightness and dull patches over time. Be careful not overuse it, excessive application sometimes can lead to imbalance in moisture. This regimen is gentle enough for daily use, aligning well with your busy lifestyle without demanding extra effort. Gulab jal is particularly soothing, ties back to its pitta-balancing and cooling properties in Ayurveda, helping calm any irritation or inflammation while maintaining skin's natural pH balance. Just remember, consistency over time is key to noticing improvements.
