A lack of fiber in your diet can lead to constipation, which is a common cause of hemorrhoids. To avoid constipation and reduce the risk of hemorrhoids, for whole foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes, which are rich in fiber and promote regular bowel movements. 🌱 Refined grains, such as white bread, white rice, and sugary cereals, lack the fiber and nutrients found in whole grains. The recurrence of piles despite surgery suggests a need to balance your doshas and optimize digestion according to Ayurvedic principles. Based on your symptoms and age, it is important to address both vitiated Vata and Pitta dosha while fortifying your digestive fire or agni. To begin with, dietary modifications are critical. Incorporate fiber-rich foods like whole grains, fruits, and vegetables which can prevent constipation. Avoid spicy, fried foods and excess caffeine or alcohol, which may aggravate Pitta. Drinking plenty of warm water throughout the day helps maintain adequate hydration and aids digestion. An Ayurvedic remedy is the consumption of one tablespoon of Triphala powder mixed in warm water, taken before bed. Triphala acts as a gentle laxative, helping regulate bowel movements naturally. Shunthi (ginger) tea after meals may enhance digestion and alleviate bloating. Physical activity such as brisk walking or yoga promotes circulation and digestive health. Pavanamuktasana (wind-relieving pose) can be beneficial in easing bowel movements due to its ability to relieve gas and enhance digestion. Ensure you are engaging in at least 30 minutes of physical activity daily. Stress management is vital, as it can worsen piles. Practicing Pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation could reduce stress and harmonize the mind-body balance. Topically, you may use a paste made from Haritaki and honey or ghee applied externally to the affected area for soothing relief and reducing inflammation. Long-term, focus on consistent digestion, balancing of your doshas, and maintaining a lifestyle that enhances regularity. Monthly consultations with an Ayurvedic practitioner may help tailor these therapies specifically to your prakriti and ongoing needs. As with all medical conditions, please consult with your healthcare provider before starting any new regimen to ensure it complements existing treatments.
