can we apply multani mitti daily on face - #24777

Wyatt

I am really confused about whether we can apply multani mitti daily on face. Last month, my friend told me it’s great for your skin because it helps with oiliness and pimples. I’ve been using it a couple of times a week but think maybe I should up my game and do it every day. My skin gets oily really fast, especially in this heat, ugh! I heard about how multani mitti is full of minerals and just amazing for cleansing, but I worry it might be too harsh if I do it daily? Like, my skin can be pretty sensitive sometimes, and I’ve had some redness after I tried doing it every other day last week. Plus, I notice my skin feels a bit dry after using it. So, can we apply multani mitti daily on face or is that overkill? Are there any tips on how to use it right to avoid dryness? Really hoping to get some advice before my skin goes nuts!

Applying multani mitti, or Fuller’s Earth, daily might not be the best idea if your skin is prone to sensitivity and dryness. While it’s indeed great for absorbing excess oil and helping with pimples due to its cleansing properties, daily application can lead to over-drying and irritation, especially if you’ve noticed redness and dry skin already. Multani mitti is quite potent, and its regular use can strip your skin of its natural oils which can lead to exaggerated oil production as your skin tries to compensate. For sensitive skin, it's recommended to use it about 2-3 times a week. Now, some tips to make sure you're getting the benefits without the downsides: mix multani mitti with ingredients like rose water, aloe vera gel or milk to mitigate any harsh effects it might have on your skin. These ingredients can help keep your skin hydrated and soothe any potential irritation. Rose water is especially cooling and can help calm redness, while aloe vera adds moisture. Also, when you use multani mitti, make sure you don't let it dry completely on your face. Once it starts to dry, it starts pulling out excess moisture from the skin too, so rinse it off while it's still a little damp. After rinsing, apply a gentle, non-comedogenic moisturizer to keep your skin's moisture barrier intact. It’s always good to be mindful of how your skin is reacting - if you're noticing too much dryness, scaling back the frequency of use is wise. For long-lasting improvement, ensure balance in your diet and lifestyle; drinking plenty of water and eating foods that are cooling, like cucumber and watermelon, can help manage oiliness naturally. If the irritation persists or worsens, consider seeking advice from a professional skincare expert or a dermatologist.
