how to use kesar - #24784

Caroline

I am really struggling with my skin lately and heard that kesar might be helpful. My friend told me she had amazing results using kesar in her skincare routine, but I'm honestly not sure how to use kesar properly. Last week, I attempted to make a face mask with it, but it turned out super messy and just not effective. I read somewhere that kesar can help with brightening skin and reducing dark spots, but I’m not seeing any difference. I mix kesar with milk and honey, but is that the right combo? Also, how long should I leave it on my face? I get worried that I might be allergic since my skin tends to react to new things. Can someone share tips on how to use kesar for better results? Like, what's the best way to prep and apply it? Would love some guidance! Sipping my tea and really just trying to get this right. Kesar seems to have so many benefits, I just want to see if it works for me. Any advice would be super helpful!

Kesar, or saffron, is revered in Ayurveda for its benefits to the skin, among other things. To truly harness its potential, it's important to use it correctly. The classic mix with milk and honey you've been using is good, as saffron's properties are enhanced in this combination. Start by soaking a few strands of kesar in about two tablespoons of milk for at least 15 to 20 minutes. During this time, the color from the saffron will seep into the milk. This soaking is crucial, as it allows the active ingredients to be released. Once soaked, mix in a teaspoon of raw honey to the saffron milk. Honey serves as a natural humectant and helps in binding the mixture. Apply this mixture evenly on your clean face, gently, using circular motions for about 1 to 2 minutes for absorption. Leaving the mixture on for about 20-25 minutes should suffice. Keep it moist by spraying a little water over it if it starts to dry. As you mentioned concerns about potential allergies, do a patch test first. Apply a small amount of the mixture on your inner wrist or behind your ear and leave it for 24 hours to see if there’s any adverse reaction. In terms of frequency, start with using this mask once a week. Over time, if your skin responds well, you can increase it to twice a week. Consistency is key with natural remedies. Saffron can indeed help in skin brightening and improving texture, but significant changes might take a few weeks to be noticeable. If you're prone to reactions, be mindful of other new products in your routine as well. It may not just the saffron but something else causing irritation. Also, drinking saffron-infused milk a few times a week can provide internal benefits, which might support your skin along with topical application. Try to maintain a balanced diet and stay hydrated, as skin health is very much influenced by what goes inside your body. Patience with these kind of treatments, coupled with a whole-body approach, often gives the best results.
