how to use turmeric for fungal infection - #24943

Christopher

I am dealing with this really annoying fungal infection that won’t go away. Like, I’ve been to the doctor, tried several meds but nothing seems to work. A friend mentioned how to use turmeric for fungal infection and I got super interested. I’ve heard about the benefits of turmeric, but honestly, I don’t know where to start. I mean, should I just try making a paste with it? Or is there a specific way how to use turmeric for fungal infection that I should know about? Also, would it be effective if I just mix it with water or coconut oil? I read somewhere that it might even help with my skin's overall condition. My infection is on my feet, and it’s just so embarrassing when I go to the gym or the beach, ugh! I found some recipes online, but I get confused about the dosages and all. Can anyone share their experiences on how to use turmeric for fungal infection? Would love some advice from people who actually tried it themselves! Ugh, I just want this cleared up already!!

Turmeric can indeed be a valuable ally in the battle against fungal infections, thanks to its active compound curcumin, known for its anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties. Yet, it’s important to approach its usage correctly for best results.

For a topical application, you can make a paste using turmeric powder. Mix 1 to 2 teaspoons of turmeric powder with enough water or coconut oil to create a thick paste. Coconut oil itself has antifungal properties, making it a good choice to boost the mixture’s effectiveness. Apply the paste directly onto the affected areas of the feet, and let it sit for 20 to 30 minutes. Then, rinse it off with warm water. Do this twice daily until you notice improvement. Be mindful of turmeric’s staining quality — it can temporarily color your skin, clothes, and surfaces yellow, so protect your surroundings when applying.

Internally, turmeric can also support the immune system. You might consider incorporating turmeric into your diet, but don’t go overboard if you’re already taking other medications. This can be done by adding a teaspoon of turmeric powder to your meals, or making a turmeric milk. Simply heat milk (dairy or plant-based) and add 1/2 a teaspoon of turmeric powder, a pinch of black pepper, and sweeten if desired with a little honey. The black pepper can enhance curcumin absorption in your body.

It’s vital to maintain good foot hygiene. Keep your feet dry and clean, since fungus thrives in moisture. Opt for breathable footwear. At the gym, avoid walking barefoot in locker rooms or showers to prevent spreading or worsening the infection.

Before starting any remedy, consider any allergies or skin sensitivities. If irritation occurs, discontinue use. If the infection persists or worsens, please seek further medical advice, as stubborn infections may need more potent treatments. Ensure the combination of turmeric with any prescribed medications is appropriate by consulting with your healthcare professional.
