is shilajit good for fatty liver - #25243

Lincoln

I am really worried about my liver health lately! Went for a check-up and doc says I have fatty liver. He recommended changing my diet and stuff, but I heard about shilajit and now I'm curious. Is shilajit good for fatty liver? I've read some articles saying it might help detoxify or something, which sounds promising. But, like, how exactly does it work for fatty liver? I’ve been trying to eat better—more greens and cut down on junk, but my energy levels still feel low. Also, I’m not totally sure about the dosage if I wanna try shilajit. Should I be wary of any side effects? I don’t wanna make it worse, you know? I feel like I’m in this weird spot where I'm trying to be healthy but also really want to make sure I'm doing the right things. Has anyone used shilajit for similar issues? Would love to hear your experiences or advice!

Shilajit is a fascinating traditional remedy and, you're right, it's known for its numerous health benefits — especially in Ayurveda. When it come to liver health, particularly a condition like fatty liver, shilajit may offer some beneficial effects due to its rejuvenating properties and mineral content. In Ayurveda, shilajit is sometimes used to help remove toxins and improve metabolism, possibly aiding detoxification processes. However, while it can be supportive, it's not a standalone treatment for fatty liver. Given the complexity of liver conditions, one shouldn’t rely solely on shilajit. It is vital to focus on a holistic approach, integrating diet proper, lifestyle changes, and traditional remedies. You mentioned you are already moving toward healthier eating habits, which is an excellent start. Continue with increased consumption of greens and consider incorporating more liver-friendly foods like turmeric, milk thistle, and in moderate amounts, garlic. For shilajit, if you choose to incorporate it, you might start with a small dose (about 300-500 mg per day) and see how your body responds. It's usually taken with warm water or milk, and morning could be a good time, as it's believed to boost energy levels — potentially aiding with your feelings of low energy. But ensure you choose a reputable source to avoid adulterated products. Regarding side effects, although generally safe for most people, shilajit might cause dizziness, increased heart rate, or allergic reactions in some. It's worth discussing with a healthcare professional, especially considering your liver concerns, to avoid any undue risk. Ultimately, consistency and balance are key. Keep exploring all lifestyle areas—proper hydration, minimizing alcohol, and regular exercise— while being cautious of supplements. Each step will support your liver's health more effectively in the long run.
