Recurring Hemorrhoids from past 1 year - #25451

Sunita

suffering from recurring hemorrhoids from past year. I do no constipate usually, but it started with having pressured bowel movement due to constipation. and from then it is recurring. It seems to be external hemorrhoids with bulges and swelling on the anal lining and constricted muscles around the area causing pain during bowel movement.Sometimes have mildbleeding. I am taking magnesium citrate to soften the stool and applying homeopathic ointment names Hemoraid from couple of months. The swelling is still there and muscles are not relaxed around the area due to bulge. Want to treat the root cause and be free from swelling naturally.

Hello, If it is recurring, it is advisable to consult an ayurveda surgeon(shalya) as the ayurveda surgical approach is most effective in such cases. The doctor will also give you diet and lifestyle corrections. Take care. Kind regards.

Hey dear,You’re using magnesium citrate — that’s good.

You can also try alternating every 2–3 days with:

Triphala churna: ½–1 tsp at night with warm water

OR Isabgol husk (psyllium): 1 tsp in warm water post-dinner

This avoids dependence on a single method and helps support bowel regularity naturally.

Sitz Bath – Twice Daily

This is a must for reducing swelling and muscle tension.

Use warm water with a pinch of turmeric + rock salt (or a few drops of witch hazel or neem oil)

Sit in it for 15 minutes, twice daily, especially after bowel movements

Helps reduce inflammation, relax sphincter muscles, and promote blood flow

Does sitz bath will reduce the bulge or swelled vein to shrink as well.

Or any ointment I can use to apply externally to remove bulge of skin

Homeopathy ointment you are applying is good. Try this gentle anal relaxation yoga: *Ashwini Mudra (anal contraction and release)

*Contract and relax the anus slowly, 10 times, twice daily (helps strengthen + relax)

Legs up the wall pose – 5–10 minutes daily for blood drainage.

Addressing recurring hemorrhoids naturally through Ayurveda involves tackling underlying factors like dosha imbalance and digestive issues. Given your description of the condition, it could be connected to an imbalance in the Pitta dosha, commonly linked with inflammation and pain. Begin by attending to your digestive health. Consider including Triphala churna in your routine, known for its mild laxative properties, to regulate bowel movements. Mix a teaspoon in lukewarm water at bedtime, aiding regularity and easing pressure on the anal region without dependence on magnesium citrate.

Focusing on your diet, include high-fiber foods like whole grains, fruits, and vegetables such as leafy greens, which can enhance bowel movement regularity, minimize straining, and prevent further irritation. Avoiding spicy, oily, and heavy foods can also prevent aggravation of the Pitta dosha. Stay hydrated, drinking plenty of water to help soften stools naturally, complementing dietary fiber intake.

For muscle relaxation and to mitigate swelling, consider applying a paste of Turmeric and Aloe Vera gel over affected area. Turmeric’s anti-inflammatory properties combined with Aloe Vera’s soothing effects may help reduce swelling. Gently apply after washing the area with warm water, encourage relaxation post-application to maximize benefits.

Incorporate gentle yoga poses such as Pavanamuktasana and Vajrasana, that support digestion, improve circulation, and minimize anal pressure. Daily exercise, even simple walks, stimulate bowel movements and reduce constipation-related issues.

Practicing stress management with Pranayama or meditative breathing techniques may also balance Pitta dosha, indirectly aiding recovery. If improvement doesn’t occur, please consult an Ayurvedic practitioner for a personalized treatment plan, aligned with your unique health profile and constitution, especially if experiencing frequent bleeding.
