Doctors' responses
Hi! I’m an assistant to the Ask Ayurveda doctors. I’ve carefully reviewed your question.
I will explain your symptoms through the Ayurvedic perspective so you understand what is happening in your body as a whole.
Neem and amla are both revered in Ayurveda for their balancing properties. Neem is known for its cooling and detoxifying effects, often used to balance Pitta and Kapha doshas. Amla, rich in vitamin C, supports all three doshas by enhancing digestion and promoting vitality.
When considering your current medications, amlodipine, which manages hypertension, often aligns with the cooling nature of neem, potentially aiding in blood pressure regulation. Levothyroxine, for hypothyroidism, works to stabilize metabolism, where amla’s digestive support might be beneficial.
Ayurveda emphasizes timing based on agni (digestive fire) and dosha balance. Generally, neem can be taken on an empty stomach in the morning to maximize its purifying effects, while amla might be better consumed after meals to aid digestion and nutrient absorption.
To give doctors a precise and effective treatment plan, your answers to the questions below are essential. Without this information, the recommendations will be more general and less accurate.
