Hi! I’m an assistant to the Ask Ayurveda doctors. I’ve carefully reviewed your question.
I will explain your symptoms through the Ayurvedic perspective so you understand what is happening in your body as a whole.
Your current situation of elevated blood sugar and blood pressure, despite significant weight loss, suggests an imbalance that can be understood through the Ayurvedic lens. Ayurveda views these symptoms as interconnected, often involving an imbalance in the Kapha and Pitta doshas.
High blood sugar can be linked to Kapha imbalance, characterized by heaviness and sluggishness, which may persist even after weight loss if dietary habits or lifestyle still favor Kapha qualities. It could also indicate weak Agni (digestive fire), leading to improper metabolism of sugars.
Elevated blood pressure often involves Pitta imbalance, where excessive heat and intensity in the system cause the blood to exert more pressure against vessel walls. Stress and lifestyle factors can exacerbate this condition, leading to sustained high readings.
Together, these symptoms suggest a systemic imbalance involving both metabolic and circulatory systems. Ayurveda would approach this by aiming to balance the doshas, strengthen Agni, and reduce any Ama (toxins) present in your system.
