Age 52 Suffering detected FSHD Muscular Dystrophy. Please suggest is there any medicine available to reduce detoration of muscul and movement. suggest taila for massage and treatment for sound sleep. how can i improve lung capacity. always feel Lack of energy to do anything.

FSHD muscular dystrophy is a progressive muscle disorder. Ayurveda may help support strength, sleep and energy, but regular neurologist follow-up, physiotherapy and breathing exercises are important. Take Ashwagandha churna 5 gm Twice daily with warm milk Bala Ashwagandhadi Lehyam 1 tsp Morning and evening after food Brahmi Vati 1 tablet At night for sleep Massage: Warm Mahanarayan Taila or Ksheerabala Taila daily on muscles and joints followed by mild hot fomentation. For lung support: Steam inhalation, deep breathing exercises, spirometer breathing practice, slow walking as tolerated. Diet: Milk, ghee, moong dal, almonds, dates, protein-rich soft diet.

FSHD (Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy) is a progressive genetic muscle disorder, so there is currently no medicine in Ayurveda or allopathy that can stop or reverse it completely. The main goal is to slow deterioration, maintain mobility, support breathing, and improve quality of life. 1. Muscle strength & fatigue (core management) Avoid overexertion—FSHD muscles fatigue easily. Gentle, regular activity is better than heavy exercise. Helpful routine: Daily light stretching (10–15 min) Assisted physiotherapy (important) Short walking breaks instead of long exertion 2. External oil therapy (to reduce stiffness & improve circulation) Mahanarayana Taila – gentle full-body massage daily or alternate days Dhanwantharam Taila – useful for neuromuscular weakness Apply warm oil + mild steam (avoid aggressive massage) 3. Internal support (Ayurvedic tonics) These may help support muscle nourishment and energy: Ashwagandha capsule – 1 capsule twice daily Dashmoolarishta – 15 ml twice daily after food Shatavari (if weakness + fatigue prominent) – 1 tsp at night with warm milk 4. Lung capacity support FSHD can affect breathing muscles over time, so this is important: Daily pranayama (only gentle): Anulom Vilom Bhramari (5–10 min) Avoid breath-holding or forceful practices Chest physiotherapy if advised by pulmonologist If breathlessness is present, regular lung function monitoring is important. 5. Sleep support Warm milk with nutmeg at bedtime Abhyanga (oil massage) before sleep improves relaxation Brahmi vati – 1 tablet at night (for calming nervous system) 6.
