How to balance Vata and improve gut health to reduce knee and body pain? - #55201
Hi, I suffer from unexplainable (from a western medical point of view) pain in my knees, that the last two years has spread to my shins, feet and sometimes my whole arms. It's related to standing and walking. The first year I couldn't stand up for more than a few seconds before the pain started and every time it lasted for three weeks when I could only sit or lie down for the pain to subside. Now, five years later, I'm better, but the amount of time I can stand or walk is still very limited. As you most likely already have understood, I have vata/pitta imbalance, that I am trying to handle with diet and herbal medicines recommended by ayurvedic doctors. I'm trying to understand the relationship between my stool, dark brown and quite often wet with froth, what I should eat and the doshas. Is a wet stool with froth a sign of too much Vata and fermentation that I should try to reduce or is it a good sign that Vata is coming out? I have been told both things and am a bit confused. How can I make my gut more balanced and reduce especially the high vata (and hopefully get rid of the pain)? I am already doing my best with a vata/pitta diet, Chandraprabha vatika and Dashmoolarishtam twice a day, however the latter is a bit tough on my stomach so I can only take a teaspoon. I would so much like to be able to eat a more varied diet and be able to stand and walk more again. Thank you in advance.
