Doctors’ responses

The symptoms you describe—gas, bloating, chest or back pain, and feelings of panic—are often associated with aggravated Vata dosha and weak digestive fire (Agni). These can also cause anxiety-like symptoms due to improper digestion and toxin buildup (Ama). Here’s a detailed plan to help you: 1. Reset Digestion Start your day with a glass of warm water with a pinch of ginger powder and rock salt. This stimulates digestion and reduces gas. Take Hingwashtak Churna (1 teaspoon) with warm water before meals. It aids digestion, reduces bloating, and prevents gas formation. 2. Herbal Remedies Take Triphala churna (1 teaspoon) at bedtime with warm water to detoxify your intestines and regulate bowel movements. Drink cumin, coriander, and fennel tea after meals. Boil a teaspoon of each in water, strain, and sip warm to reduce bloating and gas. 3. Lifestyle Changes Eat light, easily digestible meals like khichdi or soups, and avoid spicy, fried, and heavy foods. Chew your food slowly to support proper digestion. Do not lie down immediately after eating. Wait at least 2 hours before reclining to prevent acid reflux. 4. Yoga and Breathing Exercises Practice Pawanmuktasana (Wind-Relieving Pose) and Vajrasana after meals to release trapped gas and improve digestion. Daily practice of Nadi Shodhana Pranayama (alternate nostril breathing) for 10 minutes helps calm the nervous system and reduces feelings of panic. 5. Stress and Panic Management Massage your abdomen and soles of your feet with warm sesame oil before bed to calm Vata dosha. Include Ashwagandha powder (1 teaspoon) with warm milk at night to reduce stress and improve resilience to panic-like symptoms. 6. Consistency Follow this plan for at least 6–8 weeks. Monitor your symptoms closely, and if they persist, consult an Ayurvedic practitioner to identify any underlying issues like acidity, IBS, or chronic Vata imbalance.
