I have been diagnosed as “borderlineType 2 diabetic”. I suffer with pain in the lower limbs and ankles. Not sure if this is arthritis or a symptom of diabetes. I am 70 y.o male. I can see a lot of raised small veins around the ankle. What is best way to lower blood sugar and relieve the joint pain?

✅AYURVEDIC PLAN OF TREATMENT-

✅INTERNAL MEDICATION

1 Nisha Amalaki Churna ½ tsp twice daily Before meals with warm water (Balances blood sugar, acts as antioxidant)

2 Chandraprabha Vati 1 tablet twice daily after food (Supports urinary health and improves metabolism)

3 Yograja Guggulu 1 tablet twice daily after food (Reduces inflammation and supports joint detox)

4 Maharasnadi Kwath 20 ml twice daily. With equal warm water after food (Strengthens joints, relieves stiffness and nerve pain)

✅ EXTERNAL TREATMENT

Dashmoola Taila Abhyanga: Gentle massage from knees down to ankles daily before bath. It improves circulation, reduces pain, and relaxes Vata.

Kottamchukkadi Taila or Mahanarayana Taila: For pain and stiffness in joints — apply warm oil, followed by Nadi Sweda (mild steam).

Lepa: Mix Eranda Moola Churna with warm castor oil and apply on painful joints twice weekly for deep relief.

✅ DIET MODIFICATION

✅ Include: Bitter, astringent, and pungent-tasting foods (methi, karela, neem, turmeric) Green leafy vegetables, bottle gourd, ridge gourd Barley, millets, brown rice in moderation Warm water infused with fenugreek seeds or cinnamon

❌ Avoid

White sugar, refined flour, fried or dairy-rich foods Cold drinks, bakery items, red meat Prolonged fasting or late-night eating

✅ Lifestyle Advice

Practice Brisk walking for 30 mins daily (preferably morning). Avoid prolonged sitting or standing; do mild stretching yoga asanas — Pavanmuktasana, Vajrasana, and Trikonasana. Perform Anulom Vilom and Bhastrika Pranayama daily for better metabolism. Maintain foot elevation for few minutes daily to reduce vein congestion. Keep stress levels low and ensure adequate sleep.

✅HOME REMEDIES

1. Fenugreek (Methi) Water: Soak 1 tsp methi seeds overnight, drink water in the morning.

2. Turmeric Milk (Haldi Doodh): With a pinch of black pepper — reduces inflammation and regulates sugar.

3. Cinnamon Tea: ½ tsp cinnamon powder boiled in water — helps improve insulin sensitivity.

4. Warm Castor Oil Massage: Once weekly for joint lubrication and Vata balance.

With proper Ahara-Vihara, mild detox, and consistent use of above medicines, your blood sugar can stabilize, and joint pain will gradually reduce. Improvement is usually seen within 4–6 weeks, with enhanced energy levels and reduced leg discomfort
