I am 51 yr old woman, going through menopause, my weight has increased by 5 kgs over the past 2 yrs (currently 60 kgs), and recent labs showed elevated triglycerides at 190s and low HDL. I have hypothyroidism and take daily synthyroid 75 mcg daily for the past 4 years. I would like to try ayurvedic medicine for the hypertryglyceridemia

Dear Madam, Thank you for sharing your details so clearly. Please don’t worry — a triglyceride level of 190 mg/dL is borderline high, and this stage is very much reversible with the right approach. Since this has been noticed only in the last 1–3 months, it is an excellent time to intervene. At 51, during menopause, hormonal shifts naturally slow metabolism and promote central weight gain. Additionally, hypothyroidism can contribute to mild lipid elevation even when you are on regular medication. The good news is that your weight (60 kg) is still within a manageable range, and you are physically active — both are positive factors. Suggested Ayurvedic Approach • Triphala at bedtime for improving metabolism and bowel regulation • A suitable Guggulu •Triphala Guggulu for triglyceride reduction • Arjuna for cardiovascular support • If menopausal symptoms are significant, mild Vata-balancing support may be added Dietary Advice Prefer warm, light, early dinners Reduce refined carbs and sweets Include barley, horse gram, garlic, and buttermilk (daytime only) Avoid curd at night Lifestyle 30–40 minutes brisk walking daily Light strength training twice weekly (very helpful in menopause) Adequate sleep (before 10:30 pm ideally) Kindly share: Any hot flashes, sleep disturbance, or mood changes? Thanks, your message is very detailed and helpful. I do not have hot flashes, recent TSH is low at 0.19 L, and my doctor has reduced levothyroxine from 75 mcg daily- from 7 days/ week to 5 days/ week. I do exercise about 4-6 days/ week- pilates and yoga most often. I am vegetarian and do not eat much fried food. Where can I buy these ayurvedic medicines? I live in Texas, USA.

Hi… You can take Tab Abana-2-BD Tab lipidom -2 B Arjunarishta 15 ml BD And there is one juice name cholesterol go …I don’t know whether you get this or not…but it would be better if you find Avoid oily and spicy food Add garlic and cinnamon in your daily diet if possible Do some work out …let your body sweat and Pranayam ( breathing exercises) Thankyou
