“Bhasma roga” symptoms like excessive hunger, weight loss, heat intolerance, weakness and fast metabolism can correlate with hyperthyroid features. First continue thyroid monitoring with an endocrinologist because uncontrolled hyperthyroidism can affect heart and muscles. Take Shatavari churna 1 tsp with milk twice daily Ashwagandha churna 1 tsp with warm milk at night Yashtimadhu churna ½ tsp twice daily after food Brahmi ghrita 1 tsp morning with warm milk Diet: Milk, ghee, dates, black raisins, moong dal, rice, banana, homemade paneer Eat small frequent meals Avoid excess tea, coffee, spicy food, fasting and overexercise

Chikitsa Sutra (Line of Treatment) The primary clinical objective is Agni-Shamana (pacifying the hyperactive fire) using Snigdha (unctuous/heavy), Sheeta (cooling), and Guru (heavy) substances, alongside stabilizing the nervous system (Vata-Shamana). ••Classical Herbo-Mineral Protocols: Pitta & Agni Pacifiers: Formulations like Praval Pishti, Mukta Pishti, or Kamadhuga Rasa (with Mouktika) are highly effective in directly absorbing the excess Ushna (heat) and Tikshna (sharp) qualities of Pitta, bringing down the intense hunger and metabolic rate. ••Thyroid Axis Regulators: Kanchanar Guggulu is traditionally utilized to regulate glandular swelling and hyper-functioning, while balancing the Udana and Samana Vata. ••Dhatu Vardhak (Muscle Builders): Ashwagandha Churna and Shatavari Churna are excellent Rasayanas. Ashwagandha stabilizes the overactive sympathetic nervous system (reducing tremors, palpitations, and anxiety) while promoting Mamsa Dhatu (muscle mass). Shatavari acts as a cooling agent that restores the depleted Kapha elements. 2. Pathya Ahara (Dietary Management for Bhasma Roga) •When dealing with Atyagni, the stomach must never be left completely empty, as the unchecked digestive fire will start consuming your own tissues. However, the food must be heavy and cooling, not spicy or stimulating. •The Power of Ghee: Consume Ghee (Cow’s Ghee) or medicated options like Mahatika Ghrita or Saraswata Ghrita. Ghee is the ultimate antidote to Tikshnagni because it acts as an ideal fuel that calms the fire without dampening it pathologically. Take 1–2 teaspoons with warm milk or mixed directly into your meals. •Milk & Dairy: Regularly consume full-fat cow’s milk cooked with a pinch of cardamom. Milk puddings (Payasa) and thick rice-and-lentil gruels (Krishara) prepared with a generous amount of ghee are excellent classical remedies to give the Agni something heavy to digest. •Heavy Grains: Rely heavily on wheat, old rice, and oats. Avoid dry (Ruksha) grains like millet for the time being. •Hydration: Drink water infused with coriander seeds (Dhania) or fennel seeds (Saunf) cooled to room temperature. This cools the internal Daha (burning sensation). 3. Muscle Building and Exercise Precautions If you are currently trying to build muscle through heavy weightlifting or high-intensity interval training (HIIT), you must pause temporarily. ••Why? Excessive physical exertion (Ativyayama) further provokes Vata and fires up your metabolism, burning away whatever minimal tissue your body is trying to build. The Right Approach: Shift your focus to ••Brimhana (nourishing) protocols. Engage in gentle, calming movements. Practice Pranayama such as Sheetali, Sitkari, and Nadi Shodhana to cool the system and lower the high cortisol levels that fuel hyperthyroidism. ••Yoga: Practice grounding asanas like Shavasana, Viparita Karani, or mild Matsyasana at a very slow, restorative pace.
