Assessment: TSH level of 15 mIU/L suggests significant hypothyroidism. Since you are experiencing fatigue and have a family history of thyroid disease, proper evaluation and monitoring are important. -----Important Advice: Ayurveda can support thyroid health, digestion, metabolism, stress management, and overall well-being. -----However, there is currently no proven Ayurvedic medicine that can reliably “reverse” hypothyroidism or normalize a TSH of 15 in all patients. ----Please consult an endocrinologist or physician and get a complete thyroid profile (TSH, Free T3, Free T4, and Anti-TPO antibodies) before deciding to avoid thyroid medication completely. -Untreated hypothyroidism may lead to worsening fatigue, weight gain, high cholesterol, menstrual irregularities, fertility issues, and other complications. ----rx 1) Kanchnar Guggulu – 2 tablets twice daily after meals with lukewarm water 2) tab metaboost 2 tab twice daily after meal 3) tab grantihar 2 tab twice daily after meal 4) avipatikarchurn 1 tsf at night with Luke warm water ----for 2 months and follow up Avoid excessive intake of processed foods, refined sugar, and deep-fried foods. Include fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and adequate protein in the diet. Maintain regular physical activity such as brisk walking for 30–45 minutes daily. Practice stress management through Yoga and Pranayama. ----Recommended Yoga & Pranayama: Surya Namaskar Bhujangasana Matsyasana Setu Bandhasana Ujjayi Pranayama Anulom-Vilom Pranayama ----Follow-up: Repeat thyroid profile after 8 weeks.
A TSH level of 15 mIU/L is significantly elevated and commonly suggests hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid). While Ayurveda can support thyroid health, metabolism, digestion, and overall well-being, it is important to monitor thyroid function regularly with your physician because untreated hypothyroidism may affect energy, weight, cholesterol, fertility, and heart health. Ayurvedic Understanding In Ayurveda, thyroid dysfunction is often associated with: Kapha imbalance (sluggish metabolism) Mandagni (low digestive fire) Accumulation of Ama (metabolic toxins) Disturbance of Vata-Kapha dosha Your symptoms of fatigue, occasional bloating, and elevated TSH suggest a need to improve digestion, metabolism, and tissue nourishment. Recommended Ayurvedic Lifestyle Measures 1. Improve Agni (Digestive Fire) Start the day with a glass of warm water. Drink warm water throughout the day. Use digestive spices such as ginger, cumin, black pepper, cinnamon, and turmeric in meals. Avoid cold drinks, excessive dairy, fried foods, and processed foods. 2. Thyroid-Supportive Diet Include: Fresh vegetables and seasonal fruits Whole grains such as millet and barley Soaked nuts and seeds Adequate protein from pulses, legumes, and other healthy sources Reduce: Excess sugar and refined flour Heavy, oily, and deep-fried foods Late-night meals 3. Daily Exercise Brisk walking for 30–45 minutes daily Yoga practices such as: Surya Namaskar Bhujangasana Matsyasana Setu Bandhasana Ustrasana Regular movement helps stimulate metabolism and reduce Kapha accumulation. 4. Stress Management Moderate stress can worsen hormonal imbalance. Practice Pranayama daily: Anulom Vilom Bhramari Deep diaphragmatic breathing Aim for 7–8 hours of quality sleep. Ayurvedic Herbs Traditionally Used herbs that are commonly considered for metabolic and thyroid support include: Ashwagandha Kanchanar Guggulu Triphala
