Hair thinning and excessive hair fall, especially when it occurs during combing, can be linked to imbalances in the body’s Vata (air element), Pitta (fire element), and Kapha (earth element). These imbalances, along with factors such as stress, poor diet, lack of nourishment, and hormonal imbalances, can contribute to hair issues.

Dietary Changes:

1. Nourishing Foods: To strengthen your hair, focus on a diet rich in proteins, healthy fats, and vitamins. Include foods like ghee, almonds, sesame seeds, and leafy greens, which nourish the hair follicles and scalp.

2. Increase Iron and Zinc Intake: Iron-rich foods like spinach, lentils, and pumpkin seeds are essential for hair health. Zinc, found in chickpeas and flaxseeds, also supports hair growth.

3. Hydration: Drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep your scalp and hair follicles hydrated, promoting healthier hair growth.

Ayurvedic Remedies for Hair Fall:

1. Amla Oil is a great choice for hair health, as it strengthens the hair roots, promotes growth, and prevents premature graying. You can continue using it, but try warming the oil slightly before massaging it into the scalp, as this enhances absorption.

2. Bhringraj Oil: This oil is particularly known for revitalizing hair, preventing hair fall, and promoting hair growth. Regular use of Bhringraj oil can be beneficial.

3. Neem Oil or Juice: Neem has antibacterial and antifungal properties that can help cleanse the scalp and reduce dandruff, which might be contributing to hair loss.

4. Aloe Vera: Aloe vera gel applied to the scalp can soothe irritation and nourish the hair follicles, reducing hair fall.

Ayurvedic Herbs:

1. Brahmi (Bacopa monnieri): Known for its ability to reduce stress and improve circulation to the scalp, which helps with hair growth.

2. Ashwagandha: This adaptogenic herb helps reduce stress (a common cause of hair loss), balance hormones, and improve overall vitality.

3. Shatavari: This herb supports hormonal balance, particularly for women, which is vital for preventing hair loss due to hormonal imbalances.

Lifestyle Recommendations:

1. Stress Reduction: Since stress is a significant factor in hair fall, practices like meditation, yoga, and Pranayama (breathing exercises) can help restore balance and reduce hair shedding.

2. Scalp Massage: Regular scalp massages with Ayurvedic oils like Bhringraj or Amla can stimulate blood circulation to the hair follicles, encouraging growth.

General Care:

Avoid excessive heat: Refrain from using excessive heat styling tools. If you use them, always apply a heat protectant.

Gentle Hair Care Routine: Use a soft brush or wide-tooth comb to avoid causing hair breakage. Try not to tug or pull too hard on the hair when detangling.

Incorporating these Ayurvedic practices and making adjustments in your diet and lifestyle will support the overall health of your hair, promote growth, and help reduce hair fall. However, consistent use of Ayurvedic oils and herbs, along with addressing underlying factors like stress or hormonal imbalance, is key to seeing long-term results.

Hair fall can be so frustrating, I get it. Even when you’re doing your best with natural remedies like amla oil, it can still happen. Seems like there might be an imbalance in your doshas, particularly maybe Vata, which can typically dry out and weaken hair, leading to the thinning and shedding you’re seeing. Stress, diet, and other lifestyle factors could also be messing with things.

First, let’s look at your diet. Ayurveda says healthy hair is like a mirror to a healthy diet. Try including more biotin-rich foods — things like almonds, walnuts, and avocados. Grab some seasonal fruits too, like mangoes or berries. Also, keep your digestive fire, or Agni, strong with warm, cooked meals. Maybe swap out chilled drinks for soothing herbal teas.

Now, have you noticed any recent stress or lifestyle changes? Stress can be a sneaky culprit, aggravating Vata, causing hair to fall. It’s worth a shot to do around 15-20 minutes of relaxing yoga or meditations every day, right? Nothing fancy, find quiet moment, and just breathe.

Also, think about your hair washing routine – too frequent washing can strip natural oils. Wash your hair like 2-3 times a week, and always use lukewarm water to prevent further drying out.

Keep using Amla oil, it’s great! Maybe massage it gently into your scalp, letting it sit for a few hours or overnight. This helps with blood circulation, nourishing your hair from roots.

By all means, if things get worse or don’t see a change soon, it’s a good move to consult with a professional, even an Ayurvedic expert or a trichologist maybe…someone who dives deep into hair issues, ya know?

And remember, patience is kinda key here. Natural remedies can take a bit longer to show results, but consistency usually pays off. Hang in there!
