Hello Shabana, From an Ayurvedic perspective, perimenopause is often associated with an imbalance in the Vata and Pitta doshas, which can lead to the symptoms you described. The fluctuation of hormones during this phase increases Pitta, leading to heat-related symptoms like excessive sweating, nausea, and headaches. Vata imbalances may contribute to dryness, restlessness, and fatigue. In Ayurveda, the aim is to balance these doshas, calm the nervous system, and support hormonal harmony.

To manage these symptoms, Ashwagandha is commonly recommended to help stabilize the body’s response to stress, support hormonal balance, and reduce blood pressure. Shatavari, an herb known for its cooling and hormone-regulating properties, is often used in perimenopausal women to help ease hot flashes and balance the reproductive system. Brahmi can help with mental clarity, calm the nervous system, and ease headaches. For excessive sweating, Sage is often recommended as it has a natural cooling effect and helps regulate sweat. Turmeric and Guduchi are also useful for their anti-inflammatory and cooling properties, which can help reduce discomfort and balance heat in the body.

Perimenopause can really be a challenging phase, I can imagine how tough it must be with all those symptoms. But don’t worry, there are things we can do. First, let’s talk about your doshas - in Ayurveda, these symptoms mainly point towards a Pitta imbalance. Managing it is key here.

Start with your diet - cooling foods will be your ally. Think fresh fruits like grapes, watermelon, and pomegranate. Avoid spicy and fried foods cause they can aggravate Pitta. Keep well hydrated, but with cool drinks, not cold. Coconut water’s great!

For the high blood pressure, try and relax your body and mind. Yoga and Pranayama are super helpful. Practicing Sheetali breath (a cooling breath technique) can help cool your body and calm the mind. Just a few minutes every morning could make a real diffrence.

Abhyanga, which is self-massage with oil, could also be helpful. Use cooling oils like coconut or sunflower. Do this gently in the morning before showering, it helps pacify Pitta and can moderate symptoms like heavy eyes and sweating.

Consider herbal support too – Ayurveda suggests Shatavari and Ashwagandha for balancing hormones and reducing stress, both can have soothing effects. However, it’s best to consult well with a practitioner before starting them, especially since your BP’s a concern.

Lastly, sleep is crucial. Prioritize winding down at night, make your room cool and dark, it helps with the sweating too.

If symptoms like nausea and vomiting persist or elevate, please do reach out to a healthcare provider. Safety’s first! It’s all about creating a supportive routine now – small changes go long way, hang in there.
