To start addressing your weight gain concern, understanding your body type and the underlying factors affecting your health is crucial. Given your medical history with tuberculosis and epilepsy, restoring balance through Ayurveda can support your weight gain efforts while considering your current medication routine.

Your low weight could be indicative of a Vata imbalance, which often leads to difficulties in gaining weight. Vata-pacifying strategies can help stabilize your health. Regularise your eating schedule by having three main meals at the same intervals every day. Ayurvedic texts recommend incorporating easily digestible, nutrient-dense foods to strengthen your digestive fire (Agni). This can be done by including warm, well-cooked foods, ghee, milk, and almond milk into your diet. Sipping ginger tea with meals can enhance digestion and nutrient absorption.

Avoid foods like raw salads or drinks that are cold in temperature, they disturb Vata and Agni. Instead, focus on sweet, sour, and salty tastes, which Vata favor. Foods like ripe bananas, dates, and ripe mangoes are not only nourishing but also palatable.

Herbs like Ashwagandha and Shatavari can be supportive in weight management and overall vitality. They should be taken under the supervision of a healthcare provider, especially given your ongoing epilepsy treatment.

Make sure to integrate gentle, calming exercises, yoga or stretching, to keep the body supple without taxing your energy reserves excessively—just ensure any exercise doesn’t interfere with epilepsy management. Pranayama and deep breathing exercises can calm Vata energy too.

Routine sleep especially going to bed before 10 pm, repairing tissues during sleep, is vital—it aids in the anabolic processes essential for gaining weight.

Hydration is essential, but avoid drinking a lot during meals, as it might dilute digestive juices. Ayurveda emphasizes moderated yet consistent approaches to lifestyle and diet to gradually bring noticeable changes in body weight.

Note on urgency: If your weight loss seems severe or impacting daily life, prompting immediate risk, a detailed consultation with healthcare professionals is crucial. Managing your conditions in conjuction with conventional medicine and Ayurveda is the best approach for safety.
