It sounds like you may be experiencing a Pitta imbalance, which can manifest as skin irritation and itching. In Ayurveda, this is often due to excessive heat in the body. To address this condition, a comprehensive approach involving dietary modifications, lifestyle changes, and specific remedies is recommended.

First, adjust your diet to include cooling and soothing foods. Opt for foods with sweet, bitter, and astringent tastes. Focus on consuming fresh fruits like melons, grapes, and mangoes, or vegetables such as cucumbers, and zucchini. Include coconut water, which can help in cooling the body. Avoid spicy foods, caffeine, and acidic foods that can aggravate Pitta.

For your scalp and hair, apply a gentle massage with coconut oil or brahmi oil, which can help in cooling the scalp and reduce hair loss. Do this about twice a week. Let the oil sit for an hour or two before washing it off with mild herbal shampoo, avoiding harsh chemicals that could irritate the skin further.

Herbal remedies like neem can also be beneficial for itching. You might consider neem paste applied topically or neem capsules taken internally—ensure you use under the guidance of a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner. Turmeric, known for its anti-inflammatory properties can be added to your daily diet to support internal cooling.

Adopt a daily routine which includes calming practices such as regular meditation or yoga. Breathing exercises, such as pranayama, can help cool and balance the body’s energies. Try to get adequate rest, follow regular sleep patterns, avoid overexposure to the sun and hot environments.

If symptoms persist, a thorough consultation with local traditional healer or healthcare professional near you is advisable to ensure there’s no underlying medical condition that requires treatment. If your symptoms are severe or causing you considerable distress, seeking immediate medical advice is essential.

The constant itching you’re experiencing, along with hair loss, suggests an imbalance in your doshas, possibly with an aggravation of pitta dosha. This dosha governs heat and metabolism, and when it’s out of balance, it can manifest as skin irritations and inflammation.

Firstly, consider avoiding foods and activities that may increase pitta, like spicy foods, fried foods, and too much sun exposure. Instead, incorporate cooling and soothing foods such as cucumber, cilantro, and coconut water. Drinking enough water is crucial, too—in Ayurveda, proper hydration helps in flushing toxins.

For your scalp, gently massage sesame oil or coconut oil onto the scalp before bed, leaving it on overnight to nourish and cool the area. Washing it off gently in the morning with a mild herbal shampoo can prevent further irritation.

Making a paste from neem leaves, which have anti-inflammatory properties, and applying it to the scalp might provide relief. Alternatively, mix turmeric powder with just enough water to make a paste, applying it where you experience itching before bathing.

Your itching might also be tied to a general imbalance in your digestive system. Strengthening your agni, or digestive fire, can help. Ginger tea is an effective method; simmer fresh ginger slices in water and sip throughout the day.

It’s essential to monitor how these suggestions affect your condition. If there’s no improvement or if symptoms worsen, seeing a healthcare provider is advisable since it could indicate a condition that needs more immediate attention beyond home remedies. Remember to consult before stopping or starting new medications, including the sleeping aid you mentioned.
