Yes, your symptoms like mood swings, hot flashes, and weight gain align with a phase known as perimenopause leading to menopause. In Ayurveda, these are often attributed to an imbalance of Vata dosha during this transitional time in life. However, other doshas might also be affected depending on the individual prakriti—personal constitution—and imbalances.

To help regulate Vata and balance the overall tridosha, you may consider the following Ayurvedic remedies and lifestyle changes:

1. Dietary Changes: Aim to consume warm, cooked foods like soups, stews, and porridges, which pacify Vata. Include spices like ginger, cumin, mustard seeds to enhance digestion. Ashwagandha and Shatavari are excellent herbs to include; they can help balance hormones and support your body’s transition. Take around 1 teaspoon of Shatavari powder with warm milk daily. Additionally, prefer whole grains over processed foods. Include ghee which nourishes the tissues.

2. Lifestyle Adjustments: Regular routine helps to stabilize Vata. Ensure you’re getting 7-8 hours of sleep, avoiding screens at least an hour before bedtime. Regular moderate exercise such as yoga or brisk walking helps maintain mobility and mental peace. Pranayama and meditation calm the mind and emotions.

3. Herbal Supplements: Triphala can improve digestion and remove accumulated toxins, Take it with warm water before bed. Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is particularly good for mood and stress—consumed in powder form once or twice daily.

4. Therapeutic Practices: Abhyanga (self-massage with warm sesame oil) can be soothing. Engaging in this routine 2-3 times a week can balance Vata and reduce stress levels.

5. Hydration: Keep hydrated with warm herbal teas or a concoction made with cumin, coriander seeds boiled in water. Avoid cold beverages which disturbs digestion and upset Vata.

Please connect with a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner to tailor these recommendations to your specific constitution and needs. Monitor any persistent symptoms with medical oversight to avoid overlapping conditions.
