Hi,I have around 5 fibroids in my uterus. I am 42 years old. Also I have very little period blood flow lasting only 1 day.WhenIam stressed out. That Month i get very little flow. Pleases suggest a remedy. This scanty period blood flow is from 2-3 years

Hello Nidhi, First I need to look into your abdomen ultrasound report ,in order to know size and location of your fibroids. Sometimes it is common after 40’s.i can surely help you out if you take personal consultation.

Hello NIDHI JI, Uterine fibroid can be managed through proper ayurvedic treatment plan. Treatment - 1. Ashokaristha -2 tsp with 2 tsp water twice a day after meal 2. Haridra capsules-1-0-1 after meal 3.Shatavari churna -1tsp with milk at bedtime. 4. Raja pravartini vati -2-0-2 after meals 5.Kanchnar guggulu- 2-0-2 after meals

Tests needed if not done recently - Hemoglobin level Vit b12 and D Thyroid profile USG lower abdomen Diet- .Eat seasonal fruits and vegetables. .Get a nutritious and protein rich diet. .Eat dates, raisins,amla, beetroot, apple. .Take coconut water,fresh fruit juices. . Take 3-4 dates ,boil it in 1 cup milk and consume after cooling.This will give you strength. Avoid alcohol, caffeine in excess. Yoga- Anulom vilom,balasan, uttanasan,malasana,ardhavhanrasan, uttanasan. Don’t do strainous exercise or yoga and heavy physical work during menses. Lifestyle modification - Take proper rest during periods. Keep track of duration of menses for better evaluation of treatment. Stress management -Through meditation,walking, journaling, gardening . Fibroids in the uterus and scanty menstrual flow can be interconnected through underlying imbalances in the body. From an Ayurvedic perspective, scanty periods may be attributed to a Vata dosha imbalance, particularly affecting the reproductive tissues or “Artava Dhatu.” Stress, as you mentioned, is also a known factor in exacerbating Vata imbalances, further affecting your menstrual health.

First, focus on incorporating warming and nourishing foods into your diet to help balance Vata. Ensure your meals are rich in whole grains, cooked vegetables, and healthy fats like ghee or sesame oil. Sesame seeds too, known as ‘Til’ in Ayurveda, can be beneficial; a spoon daily alongside warm milk could support menstrual health. Also, adding cumin, coriander, and fennel to your meals can be beneficial for balancing hormones.

Consistent sleep and stress-management practices such as yoga or meditation are vital. Try “Bhramari Pranayama,” a breathing exercise that can help calm the mind and reduce stress. Engaging in daily gentle exercises like yoga or walking helps in maintaining optimal blood circulation.

Consider consuming herbal formulations like Shatavari kalpa or Ashoka-arishta, which are traditionally used to help regulate menstrual cycles. However, consult a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner for personalized dosage and advice.

External applications, like a castor oil pack, may support uterine health. Soak a cloth in warm castor oil, apply over the lower abdomen, cover it with plastic, and place a warm water bottle on top for 30-45 minutes, a few times a week.

In case your symptoms worsen or don’t improve, it’s essential to seek advice from a healthcare professional. Fibroids, though common, sometimes necessitate medical intervention, so remain vigilant regarding changes in symptoms.
