Seeking Ayurvedic Guidance for Headaches, Stress, and Hair Thinning - #45015
Namaste doctor, I would love your Ayurvedic perspective on my overall situation – body, mind and hormones / feminine energy – and how I can support myself in a practical way in daily life. Some background: I am a woman, living a very health-conscious lifestyle. I have been eating vegan, gluten-free, sugar-free and without dairy, eggs or meat for years. I cook mostly fresh, use a lot of vegetables, legumes, nuts and seeds. Despite this, I experience several ongoing issues: 1. Headaches and head pressure Recurrent headaches and a feeling of pressure in the head. They often get worse with temperature changes (cold to warm, weather changes). In very hot weather I usually feel better and more relaxed. 2. Nervous system and stress sensitivity I react strongly to stress, loud environments and emotional tension. My body goes quickly into a kind of “fight/flight” mode. It is hard for me to stay in a soft, feminine, receptive energy – I often slip back into pushing, overthinking and controlling. 3. Digestion and energy Even with my healthy diet I sometimes feel bloated or heavy, and I have energy crashes during the day. My digestion is not always stable, and I feel my “Agni” is easily disturbed. 4. Hair thinning Over the last months my hair has become much thinner than before. I used to have thick hair; now it feels weak and fine. I wonder if this is related to stress, hormones, Vata imbalance or nutritional aspects from an Ayurvedic view. Several practitioners have told me that I am Vata-dominant, with possible Vata aggravation, but I would like to hear your own assessment of my Prakriti and Vikriti. My questions to you: 1. From an Ayurvedic perspective, which dosha imbalances (and maybe Dhatus / Srotas) do you see behind this pattern of headaches, sensitivity, digestive issues and hair thinning? 2. How would you describe my probable constitution (Prakriti) and current imbalance (Vikriti) based on this description? 3. Which daily routine (Dinacharya) would you recommend for me to calm my nervous system, to relieve the head and improve circulation, and to support a soft, grounded feminine energy? 4. Which foods and food combinations do you suggest for someone who is already vegan and gluten-free, in order to strengthen Agni, avoid bloating, stabilize energy and mood? 5. Which herbs, oils or external treatments (e.g. head or foot oiling, Shirodhara, Nasya, specific hair oils, teas, etc.) would you consider most helpful in my case, especially for headaches and head pressure, hair growth and hair strength, calming Vata and stress? I am very willing to follow a consistent routine and make adjustments. I would be grateful for concrete, practical recommendations (for example: which oils, which simple home practices, which herbs to discuss with a practitioner locally).
