Managing anxiety with an Ayurvedic approach begins by looking at your Prakriti (constitution) and any existing imbalances, especially those involving Vata and Pitta doshas. Your symptoms suggest an imbalance in both these doshas - your hot body could indicate excess Pitta, while anxiety and fear are typically Vata-driven concerns. Firstly, let's address your digestive fire, or Agni. Since you mentioned gastric issues, consider taking Agni-stabilizing spices such as cumin seeds and fennel after meals. Boil them in water and sip the tea you make, improving digestion and reducing gastric discomfort. In terms of medicine, Brahmi is often very effective for calming Vata and supporting mental peace. You might consider taking Brahmi in powder form with warm ghee or milk at night. It's also beneficial to explore Jatamansi or Ashwagandha as they're known for their nervous system benefits and can help in anxiety reduction, remember that dosages matter and consulting a practicioner for the best fit for you would be ideal. Pancha Karma therapy could also provide a holistic detoxifying experience, especially a treatment called Shirodhara, where warm oil is continuously poured on the forehead. This has known calming effects and can help slow down racing thoughts. It's beneficial to consult a qualified therapist or physician for such therapies to guide you safely. Regarding diet, try cool, calming, Pitta-pacifying foods. Consume things like fresh fruits, sweet potatoes and cucumbers. Avoid spicy and fried foods which can aggravate Pitta and Vata alike. Drinking aloe vera juice or coconut water might help balance the internal heat. Consider exclusion of stimulants like caffeine which can trigger anxiety symptoms. Remember to incorporate yoga and breathing exercises as they can help regulate the mind. Practices like Pranayama and meditation can be valuable daily routines you can include. Even walking in nature, in morning or evening could be remarkably grounding. Doing this alongside consulting a professional who can regularly assess your progress will assist in developing a collaborative approach to your comfort. If your anxiety persists or worsens, discussing options with a healthcare proffesional is essential.
