Hii......I'm a new mother who had cesarian 1year back. As I have low milk supply I stoped breastfeeding and started formula feed to my child from 3rd month of my delivery......before pregnancy my weight was 58KGS and my height is 5 2" At the time of delivery it was 84KGS. After delivery it decreased to 74kgs but from then Im trying to loose weight but it was not happening..... I tried no sugar diet and avoided junk food also but my weight was not decreasing....... As a mother I will have stress, postpartum depression, a distrubed sleep...... So I'm unable to loose my weight..... But I need to loose weight as it is increasing some inferiority complex in me....please suggest something for me.

Doctors’ responses

Hmm, it sounds like you're navigating a lot right now, and I get it. Shedding that postpartum weight can be tough with everything else you got goin' on. Let's explore some ways Ayurveda might help. First up, let's reflect on your digestion, or "agni." Sometimes, after a c-section, it can be a bit sluggish, which might be a root cause here. It's all about balancing the Kapha dosha – that can often cause weight gain. Anything warm and light would be your friend. Consider making **ginger tea** part of your day, sip it 20-30 mins before meals. Speaking of meals, keep them simple and spiced. Opt for vegetables like zucchini, carrots, or asparagus, and try switching to whole grains like quinoa or barley. A sprinkle of spices like cumin, ajwain, and mustard seeds help stimulate the digestive fire. Just an addition of half teaspoon ghee can also be beneficial – helps with satiety and digestion. Oh, and here's a nifty little trick - avoid skipping meals. Instead, aim for consistency. Three meals a day, at almost the same times, supports that inner clock (also reduces stress). Stress, yeah... that's adding its own weight, huh? Between motherhood and general life chaos, who wouldn’t feel overwhelmed? A daily practice of **abhyanga** (self-oil massage) using warm sesame oil can soothe the nerves, promoting relaxation and sleep. Try it out just before a warm shower or bath. For exercise – nothing heavy, please. Gentle yoga or walks suffice in starting. Remember, it's about sustainability, not a drastic switch. Small note: if you're still dealing with postpartum depression, do talk to a healthcare professional! It’s okay to seek support when things feel stuck. Hey, remember this isn’t all about looking a certain way, but feeling strong n' healthy! You’ve got this, one step at a time.
