Hair loss after dengue is not uncommon, as it can be a result of stress on the body and its immune system during the illness. Since you’re experiencing hair fall two months after the infection, it could be related to the physical stress your body underwent. In Ayurveda, this is considered a disruption of the balance of your doshas, particularly Vata and Pitta, which can impact hair growth and strength. To address this, I recommend focusing on nourishing treatments for both your body and hair. Incorporating herbs like Ashwagandha and Brahmi can help strengthen your immune system, reduce stress, and support hair growth. Applying warm herbal oils, such as Bhringraj oil or Amla oil, to the scalp can nourish the hair follicles and promote hair regrowth. You can also take Triphala for digestion and detoxification, which may help regulate your IBS. Additionally, a diet rich in iron, biotin, and omega-3 fatty acids can support hair health. Since you have thyroid issues, it’s important to consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner to tailor treatments for both your thyroid and hair fall. Avoid harsh chemicals and focus on gentle, natural remedies to reduce side effects.
Dengue can be tough on your body and hairfall like yours is not unusual after. It’s like your body’s way of saying “hey, give me some TLC” after all the stress it went thru.
First off, let’s talk about what you’re eating. In Ayurveda, supporting the health of your Dhatus, especially Rasa (plasma) and Rakta (blood), can really make a difference for your hair. You might want to focus on a diet that nourishes Vata dosha since it’s probably imbalanced from the stress of dengue. Start with foods that are grounding and warm. Think cooked veggies, whole grains, nuts, and seeds. Ghee is like a magical elixir; it can be added (not too much!) to your dishes for nourishment.
Try some herbal support like Amla (Indian Gooseberry) or Bhringraj powder. Mix a spoon of either with water and have it on an empty stomach. They’re known for promoting hair health and overall vitality. But take it slow just to see how your body likes them.
Oil massage can help - go for a gentle scalp massage with lukewarm coconut oil or sesame oil once or twice a week. Not too harsh, just soft circles with your fingers, it’s soothing for the scalp and mind.
Stay hydrated, drink warm water through the day to help your agni (digestive fire) function better which in turn assists in proper absorption of nutrients.
Avoid intense stress or overexertion; give yourself grace and some deep rest. Try breathing exercises like Pranayama, if you’re okay with it.
Since allopathic meds aren’t suiting you, focus more on these natural methods and keep your digestion in good shape to prevent further issues. But, if things like diarrhea or hair fall get worse or alarming, definitely reach out to a healthcare provider to keep things checked. Your body’s got a great capacity to heal, just needs some time and help!
