I have lazy eye problems But this is not since my birth - #23971

Suman sarkar

Fifteen years ago, while I was playing cricket, the ball hit my eye. My eye became completely red, so I consulted a doctor who gave me some medicine. I had some issues for a few days, but then it seemed to get better. However, over time, my eye gradually started drifting to the right side. I underwent several tests, but nothing helped. Every doctor I've consulted has told me that it cannot be corrected now.

Age: 32
Chronic illnesses: No
I don't have any pain but my eyes now drifting to the right side

Ayurveda can definitely offer support for managing eye muscles’ strength and overall eye health. In your case, it sounds like an imbalance could have resulted from the injury, influencing the muscles or nerves around the eye. To approach this through Ayurveda, consider starting with a daily routine (dinacharya) aiming at improving ocular health. Simple practices can be beneficial. Start with washing your eyes with Triphala water. Triphala is a tri-doshic herb combination known for improving eye function. Soak Triphala powder overnight in warm water and strain it in the morning. Use the water to gently wash your eyes. It's also important to include foods that pacify Pitta dosha, which is related to sight and can be aggravated due to heat or injury. Incorporating cooling foods like cucumber, cilantro, and ghee can be soothing. Stay hydrated with plenty of water. Practicing Trataka can be a beneficial yogic eye exercise. It's a meditation that involves steady gazing at a small object, such as a candle flame. This exercise helps to strengthen ocular muscles and nerves. You should sit comfortably, place a candle around three feet away, and gaze at the flame without blinking as long as possible. Remember after doing this for several minutes to close your eyes to give them rest. Be cautious about doing this in moderation, somewhere around five to ten minutes. Nasal administration (Nasya) with Anu taila is another recommendation. This classical formulation can help in nourishing and strengthening brain pathways that influence eye movements. Take about two drops in each nostril, in the morning, while lying down. Without knowing your exact body constitution (prakriti), general tips might not address all factors involved. Seek a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner to gain a personalized regimen based on your specific dosha balance, lifestyle, and more. Remember emergency treatments in Ayurveda are not a replacement for conventional care when there's acute need.
