is elaneer kuzhambu good for eyes - #25152

Allison

I am really curious about this dish called elaneer kuzhambu. Last week, I tried it for the first time at a friend's house, and it was delicious! But I've been having this worry about my eyes lately. I work long hours on the computer, and my eyes always feel strained and dry, like they could use some help. Someone mentioned that elaneer kuzhambu is good for eyes and can help with eye health, but I never thought of food as a remedy. I did some googling, but it was confusing. Anyway, I’ve been eating more foods touted for eye health, like carrots and leafy greens, but I'm not sure if adding elaneer kuzhambu would really make a difference. Is elaneer kuzhambu good for eyes? Does it have properties that could help with my eye strain? How often should I eat it for any benefits? Should I be worried about other ingredients in it? I just want to make sure I am doing the right thing for my health. Thanks for any advice!

Elaneer kuzhambu, primarily made with tender coconut and possibly other spices and ingredients, is indeed a refreshing dish. While it might not be a direct remedy for eye health, incorporating it into your diet can be beneficial for overall wellness. The hydration factor from the tender coconut is particularly nourishing, as keeping well-hydrated is essential for maintaining healthy mucous membranes, including those in your eyes. If your eyes often feel dry, ensuring proper hydration might help alleviate some discomfort. Eye strain from long hours of computer use is common and can be exacerbated by Vata imbalances according to Ayurveda. While elaneer kuzhambu might indirectly support your eyes by ensuring hydration, incorporating foods rich in Vitamin A—like carrots and spinach—is crucial for eye health. To target eye strain directly, consider using Triphala churna. This Ayurvedic remedy can be taken daily by mixing a teaspoon in water and consuming it before bed. It is known to support eye health and reduce strain. Regular breaks from screen time are vital. Practice the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds. This can help relax your eye muscles significantly. Ensure your workspace is well-lit to reduce glare on your screen and adjust your screen's brightness to a comfortable level. Regarding elaneer kuzhumbu, enjoy it as part of a balanced diet. There's no specific frequency for its consumption to benefit eye health alone, but having it once or twice a week, while also engaging in other eye-friendly practices, can't hurt. Keep an eye on the spices and ingredients though—some might aggrevate certain doshas if consumed excessively. Lastly, for persistent eye dryness, it’s wise to consult an eye specialist to rule out underlying conditions that might require different interventions. Keep exploring varied diets, but remember that holistic approaches involve a combination of good diet, proper lifestyle and regular medical checkups when needed.
