Sri Sri Tattva Ashwagandha Tablets - #33481

Penelope

I am in this weird spot right now with my health. Lately, I been feeling super anxious and maybe it's stress from work or life in general, but I can't shake it off, ya know? A friend suggested I try Sri Sri Tattva Ashwagandha Tablets since she swears by them for calming her nerves and boosting overall well-being. I thought, “why not?” So I got a bottle and started taking one tablet daily like it says on the label. But here’s the thing, at first, I felt a little relaxed, but then I got a bit of a tummy ache. Now I'm wondering if the Sri Sri Tattva Ashwagandha Tablets are really doing what they should? Is it normal to feel some discomfort when you start taking them? I mean, I've read it's supposed to help with stress and anxiety, which I need, but now I'm also worried about this weird stomach thing. Do you just keep taking it until your body gets used to it, or should I cut back or something? Really confused here and don’t want to mess it up. Anyone else had a similar experience with Sri Sri Tattva Ashwagandha Tablets? Advice would be super helpful!

Doctors' responses

Experiencing some initial digestive discomfort when starting new supplements, like Sri Sri Tattva Ashwagandha Tablets, isn’t uncommon. Ashwagandha is renowned in Ayurveda for its adaptogenic properties, meaning it helps the body manage stress, anxiety and enhances overall vitality. However, each individual’s response can vary, especially if your digestive fire, or “agni,” is weak or if you have a sensitive stomach.

First, it’s important to pair Ashwagandha with meals. Taking it on an empty stomach can sometimes cause irritation or an upset stomach as the body adjusts. Try having your Ashwagandha tablet after your main meals (breakfast or lunch), along with food that you find easy to digest. This might help minimize discomfort. Also, ensure you’re not overloading your digestion with heavy, oily, or spicy foods at the same time, as these can compound any digestive challenges.

Monitor how your body responds over a week or two. If discomfort persists, it could be beneficial to reduce the dose by splitting the tablet in half. Taking these smaller doses twice daily with meals might help your body to gradually acclimate. Also, stay hydrated and maintain a balanced diet rich in cooling foods should help balance any potential Pitta aggravation that might contribute to this unease.

If symptoms persist or worsen, tis always best to stop the supplement and consult with a healthcare professional. Sometimes a personal consultation with an Ayurvedic practitioner can tailor recommendations more closely to your specific constitution (prakriti) and current imbalances (vikriti), considering other herbs or lifestyle changes that might complement or replace Ashwagandha.

Ultimately, a holistic approach involving proper diet, regulating daily routine, and stress management techniques, like yoga or meditation, will help in gaining long-term relief from anxiety and work-induced stress. If Ashwagandha alone does not align, there are often other remedies that can better suit your individual needs.

When it comes to using Sri Sri Tattva Ashwagandha Tablets, they are generally considered quite beneficial for managing stress and anxiety. Interestingly, ashwagandha is known in Ayurveda for its adaptogenic properties, which means it helps your body adapt to stress and promotes a sense of calm. However, stomach discomfort isn’t a commonly expected effect, though it can occur as your digestive system adjusts to a new supplement.

The discomfort you’re experiencing might be tied to several factors. Firstly, Ashwagandha can increase heat or “pitta” in some individuals, potentially leading to digestive issues if you have a pitta-predominant constitution or existing gastrointestinal sensitivities. If your digestive fire, or agni, is already weak, introduction of new supplements can sometimes create an upset.

Instead of discontinuing immediately, you might try reducing the dose to half a tablet daily and observe if the discomfort subsides. Additionally, taking the tablet with food, ideally in the evening when body generally likes more serenity, can often alleviate digestive upset. This timing also aligns with balancing vata and soothing nervous system activities.

Moreover, integrating practices like regulated breathing, ensuring you’re hydrated enough, and avoiding overly spicy or oily foods could support the overall calming effect of Ashwagandha without exacerbating your stomach issues. If the discomfort persists, it would be prudent to pause the tablets and consult with an ayurvedic practitioner who can assess your specific dosha and offer a more personalized regimen. Remember, any ongoing distress in your digestive system should be addressed to optimize your long-term health and wellness.
