how to increase sex time - #35878

Ryan

I am really struggling with something that’s affecting my relationship. Lately, I've been feeling like I don’t have the stamina I used to in bed, and I keep wondering how to increase sex time. It’s kinda frustrating because my partner is understanding, but I can see them getting a bit disappointed. I mean, we used to have these wild nights, you know? Like, I could go on and on, but now I feel like I’m lucky to last even fifteen minutes. Anyway, I remember reading somewhere that diet and lifestyle changes can make a difference. Is that true? If so, what exactly helps with how to increase sex time? I’ve tried a few things, like cutting back on junk food and drinking more water, but I don’t notice any major improvements. Also, I do have a pretty stressful job, so I wonder if stress might be messing with me too. I really want to be able to satisfy my partner and feel good about myself again. Are there specific herbs or ayurvedic remedies that could help? I keep hearing about some, like ashwagandha, but I don't really know how they fit into the picture of how to increase sex time. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Increasing stamina in bed can be a multifaceted endeavor, involving a balance of lifestyle, diet, and mental well-being. In Ayurveda, it’s not uncommon for stamina issues to be connected with imbalances in the doshas, particularly Vata and Pitta. Stress, as you’ve mentioned, can notably elevate Vata, leading to fatigue and decreased endurance.

First, considering your stressful job, it would be wise to incorporate practices that help in grounding and calming the mind. Daily meditation, even for 10-15 minutes, and Pranayama (breathing exercises like Anulom Vilom), can significantly reduce stress. These practices help you align your mind and body energies, promoting a more relaxed state, essential for endurance.

Diet-wise, focus on nurturing Ojas—considered the essence of vitality. Foods that are warm, humid, nourishing, and easy to digest, like whole grains, milk, ghee, nuts, and seeds, build Ojas. Avoid excessive caffeine, alcohol, and fried foods as they can deplete this vital essence. Meal timing is also essential; avoid long gaps between meals to maintain digestion effective and energy consistent.

Herbal remedies well-regarded in Ayurveda for sexual health include Ashwagandha and Shatavari. Ashwagandha, specifically, acts as an adaptogen, reducing stress hormones and boosting stamina. Begin with 500 mg of Ashwagandha powder or capsule twice daily. Shatavari, known for rejuvenative properties, can be used similarly. These should be ideally consumed with milk for increased effectiveness.

Regular exercise to improve circulation and stamina is also recommended. Try yoga poses that open up the pelvic area, like the Baddha Konasana (Butterfly Pose), which can promote energy flow and vitality—practice these consistently.

Lastly, communication with your partner about your progress and challenges helps minimize performance pressure, which can exacerbate stamina issues. Encourage their support in aiding relaxation post-work or exercising together.

It’s good that you’re attempting lifestyle changes; consistency is key to seeing improvement. Integrating these Ayurvedic practices with dedication can profoundly impact over time.

First, let’s talk about how the balance of your doshas might be influencing your situation. In Siddha-Ayurveda, sexual stamina can be affected by an imbalance, particularly in Vata dosha. Vata governs movement and also impacts your nervous system. Stress and lifestyle factors can aggravate Vata, leading to decreased stamina. Addressing this is key.

Diet and lifestyle do play a significant role in enhancing sexual stamina. Since you’ve already begun cutting back on junk food, continue focusing on a Vata-pacifying diet. Include warming and grounding foods like whole grains, root vegetables, and healthy fats such as ghee and sesame oil. Warm, cooked meals with spices like ginger, cumin, and cinnamon help balance Vata. Avoid excessive caffeine and cold foods, which can increase Vata and disturb your digestive fire (agni).

Ashwagandha is indeed a powerful adaptogenic herb that can support sexual stamina by nourishing the tissues (dhatus) and calming the nervous system. Take it with warm milk or water before bedtime, about 3 to 5 grams per day. This helps rebuild energy reserves and reduce tension.

Beyond diet, consider your stress levels. Excess stress in your work environment can affect your energy and libido. Try incorporating meditation or deep breathing exercises for 10-15 minutes daily to soothe the mind and body.

Exercise is important, but be mindful of your body. Gentle yoga that focuses on stretching and balancing energy channels (nadis) could keep your body relaxed, aiding better performance in bed. Sleep, too, plays a vital role; aim for 7-8 hours of quality rest each night.

Remember these recommendations are not one-size-fits-all solutions. If you notice persistent issues or any other concerning symptoms, it may be prudent to consult a healthcare professional for a comprehensive evaluation.
