Hello, As you are saying your issue is long standing(I hope it is not in your family), it is advisable to meet an ayurveda doctor in person so that he/she can guide you through panchakarna+internal medications+yogasana+pranayama. Take care, Kind regards.

Addressing long-term asthma with breathing difficulties and low vitamin B12 levels involves a multi-faceted approach. Asthma is predominantly seen as a Vata and Kapha dosha imbalance in Ayurveda. The main aim would be reducing these imbalances while strengthening your respiratory system.

Start with your diet since you’re vegetarian. It’s essential to ensure your meals support good agni. Include warm, cooked foods that are easily digestible. Apply hing, garlic, and ginger in your cooking — these spices help clear respiratory passages and improve digestion. To counter your B12 deficiency, include fortified foods like cereals and plant-based milk or consider a B12 supplement, as aligning your energy levels through adequate B12 intake is crucial.

In practice of Pranayama, opt for gentle techniques like Anulom Vilom (alternate nostril breathing) and Ujjayi breathing — these can enhance lung strength and capacity, perform consistently for 10-15 minutes daily, either in the morning or evening at a calm spot. However, in your particular case, consulting with an expert to tailor your practice would be advisable.

Consider Ayurvedic herbs prescribed by a physician, like Pushkarmool and Vasaka, known for respiratory health benefits. They should be taken following professional advice to avoid any contraindication with your existing treatment.

While these remedies can support your condition, a persistent and worsening asthma condition should be evaluated by healthcare professionals. It may be necessary to explore a different inhaler or medications that suit your current needs, ensuring you don’t asume control without specialist guidance. Your engagement with your health journey is significant, keep striving with consistent effort and patience, always aligning any changes with medical advice!
