When addressing anxiety, nervousness, and related symptoms like palpitations, trembling, and weakness, Ayurvedic principles suggest looking at the root causes and balancing the doshas. Often, these symptoms are linked to vitiation of Vata dosha, which governs movement and instability in the body. Here’s a detailed plan considering your current situation:

To harmonize Vata, start with Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), a well-regarded adaptogen in Ayurveda. It helps in stabilizing the mind and reducing stress. Take a 500 mg capsule twice daily after meals with warm milk. Ashwagandha is nourishing, it helps to bring calmness to the mental state.

Next, try Brahmi (Bacopa monnieri), which is effective for promoting mental clarity and calmness. You can take Brahmi powder mixed with warm ghee or Brahmi capsules—usually 250 mg twice daily. This should be consumed on an empty stomach, early in the morning for better effectiveness.

Your daily routine should also incorporate a form of Abhyanga (oil massage) using warm sesame oil. Doing this before your morning shower can greatly help in grounding Vata, soothing the nervous system, and promoting relaxation. Spend about 15-20 minutes massaging the oil gently on your body in circular motions.

For diet, emphasize warm, moist, and nourishing foods. Opt for cooked grains like rice or quinoa, stewed fruits, and vegetables, especially root vegetables. Avoid raw foods, excessive caffeine, and cold beverages as they may aggravate Vata further. Incorporate spices like cumin, ginger, and fennel for enhancing digestion and soothing the mind.

Include evening routines for calming the mind before bed. Practices like listening to calming music, or engaging in deep breathing exercises can help. Pranayama, particularly Anulom Vilom (alternate nostril breathing), for at least 10 minutes daily, can profoundly help balance the nervous system.

Lastly, ensure adequate sleep, maintain regular meal timings, and if your symptoms persist, think of seeking guidance from a health care professional. This will help in tailoring recommendations more closely to any specific needs or conditions.
